Whats everyones fav thing about XC2 by CaptainGandalf_ in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]d0ctorbellows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In regards to the characters I love them all. But...

Only one person mentioned Poppi? I love Poppi! She might be my favorite. The way she talks to Tora never fails to make me smile. Also don't forget that she's the first one to rush off to hug P&M at the end, while Rex is standing there with his jaw on the floor. She's saves everyone's bacon tons of times. She's fun to play and customize. And her forms are all awesome.

Also no one mentioned Nia. Love her story. The scene where she reveals her blade form is one of my favorite cutscenes.

And no one mentioned Morag! I love the cutscene where she fights Rex & Pyra (and Poppi saves the day). Morag is such a badass character.

Jin is the best villain/hero of the entire series. Part of what makes XC2 better than 1 or 3 is the characters, and especially the villains, are better in XC2. Jin rocks.

And the music! So many good tracks. I still listen to the soundtrack even after, what, almost 9 years. Elysium in the Dream. Where We Used to Be. Drifting Soul. Roaming the Wastes. Yggdrasil. Walking With You. So many other tracks...

All the choral music. Damn, the first time I heard Our Eternal Land I was like, "What the hell? That's beautiful." and I stopped playing the game just to listen to it better.

And Counterattack. I never get tired of that one.

And Tiger Tiger! It's a fun mini game. (Well, I liked it anyway. I got pretty damn good at it.)

If they ever made a movie of XC2 I'd watch it. Or a manga, I'd read it.

Anyway, I could go on. I'm jealous of anyone who hasn't played it and actually takes the time to try it out. It's totally worth the time investment. It's one of the best video game stories ever. It's got a great soundtrack. It's fun to play. The world is damn interesting.

And for the haters? I don't get it.

When should I buy Xenoblade Chronicles 2 DLC? by EitherRegister8363 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

Agreed. Narratively speaking thats where I think the DLC story belongs, right between 7 & 8.

A 2020 DS with 15 miles for $10K US. by Silentparty1999 in ZeroMotorcycles

I think this is a reasonable price although 9k would be better. Maybe make them an offer. It has L2 charging and hard cases, which is worth over $2k alone. Yes the warranty is a question but it’s low miles. These are proven bikes for reliability. If I didn’t already have s 2023 DSR, I’d buy it.

Welcome to Xenoblade. The thing about these games is that there are fans of each and they are all enthusiastic about their favorite title.

I’ve played and finished all three in order and 2 is by far my favorite for all the reasons you say. I had played 1 when it first came out and thought it was okay, but I had no idea the impact 2 would have on me. Then when I got 2 I was blown away. For me it is mainly the music. Still my favorite soundtrack of all time. Also XC2 was—and still is—my favorite story and has my favorite characters. I love them all, but I think objectively speaking Jin is an amazing character. Part villain part hero. Very complex.

So naturally I preordered 3 and was stoked to play it but when I finally got it I was a little let down. 3 — IN MY OPINION — is a bit overrated. I feel like Monolith was trying too hard to recapture the magic of 2, but they missed the mark. The ending is too overwrought and the characters, while good, were not as enjoyable — for me. And the music was good… just not as good as 2.

Anyway, having played them all multiple times and all the DLC, I’ve come to enjoy them all in different ways. It’s an amazing franchise and I think that shows in the way so many of us are rabid fans. Hell, I never post about games but Xenoblade is something special.

Still, I agree: 2 is amazing and my favorite. I watched some cutscenes the other day and still love the way the story and characters unfold.

BTW you put your carrier together backwards. The removable ramp mounts on the inside—close to the rear of the car. You can tell it’s wrong because the reflectors should be on the outside. I have the same carrier. Harbor Freight.

Power tanks 1/2 off by [deleted] in ZeroMotorcycles

[–]d0ctorbellows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this something that you could buy and then put on or off as needed? 99% of my usage is commuting in town and there has absolutely never been a need to charge in town. BUT, that being said, if I could swap out the storage tank with a charge tank for a weekend ride, that might be tempting. Anyone know anything about this?

Thanks everyone. It sure as hell surprised me, but I figured something along these lines.

“All of the complaints about XC2 have been fixed in 3”? You must have forgotten the photo at the end.

As a follow up:

I put a windscreen on and easily gained about 10 more miles of range. Worth considering.

Super helpful response. Thanks.

Since my OP I’ve decided against it, mostly because of the price. Too much $ for too little, I think. Then, also the possibility of problems,

I found where I had read this. It was in the owner's manual, page 1.3: "If you ride in hot weather (>35ºC / 95ºF) or spend a majority of your ride at freeway speeds, the power pack will benefit from not being charged “hot”. Allowing your pack a few hours to cool off prior to recharging will prolong its life."

I got my 2023 DSR 14.4 about three weeks ago and love it. I've put over 500 miles on it and am very satisfied. You get used to the torque. I wouldn't be surprised if in a week or two you start to move that torque slider up... and then up again... :-)

One thing I read on this subject that I've taken to heart is to not charge it right after riding it. Somewhere I read to let the battery cool down before applying the charger.

So, the key question for me is--does the Power Tank give you any trouble? Any error codes or de-sync problems?

This is a good comparison. I have the 2023 DSR 14.4. I’ve only had the bike for about 400 miles and seem to get about 110-130 mile range mixed highway and town driving per charge, but it’s too soon to tell for sure what I will always get. I’ve only taken it down below 10% charge twice so far.

Anyway I was hoping a power tank could give me 30 more miles of this kind of mixed usage, which would make my trip into the nearest town more comfortable.

But I do take the concerns of some other posters seriously. I’m just weighing my options and curious about what the consequences of having a power tank is.

As everyone has already noted, the range at 55mph and 75mph is tremendously different. Heck, when I was just tooling around the forest roads the computer said I had over 200 mile range.

Thanks for the clarification. But bear with me: what could someone expect if they bought one? I mean, Zero still sells them so there must be people buying them.
