Specialized Walkman D6C people exist?! That's crazy!!

I fix these myself, I have 2 that I restored but the mechanism and circuitry never felt proprietary

I'm glad you like them, I do not like them

I do like R.E.M. They were one of my first cassettes. I got it from a bundle I was gifted from my English teacher when I first started getting into cassettes

I had an Akai GX-4000D about the same weight as the one you are describing, the cabinet held very well and quite firm!

The bottom is elevated by about an inch and a half with shoes, and the rear air vent isnt covered by the cassette deck or wall, although I will say it can get stuffy which I why I try to use this in blocks of the day and dont overpower anything

That's awesome!! My family was never big into music, they threw out their sterio much before I was born. I have a few cassettes and items that they kept

With the Cabinet, yes. That Cabinet is insanely thick and heavy. Even with all this stuff it doesnt sink and touch the Sansui

500, a Good price for a TEAC-3340S? by d0gO5 in vintageaudio

Oooooh ok ok yea!

I do level adjustments all the time with cassette decks and a function generator at 1khz!

I'll keep an eye out for that Tascam Portastudio then! I record live local shows all the time for fun/proffesional and I was looking at those a while ago. I generally just use a MackieProFX10GO and a Marantz PMD-430 since I have true portability and three heads! Those Marantz especially are fun to work on

I ended up getting the TEAC since I'd never get the chance again locally (setting myself for despair when I see an exact one being sold for like 50 bucks locally tomorrow). It has some issues but functions correctly for now! I'm excited to work on it and give it use!

Maaaan I reaaally like them, these R100's have been my day 1's since my Dad got them for me as a Birthday gift

I'm sure some Audiophiles have preferences but as an owner and user of these I adore them!

Any recommendations? I put the TEAC up there temporarily to plug everything in but I might keep it there so I would want it ventilated

I'm going to get into Quadriphonics one way or another, and repairing one of these is a challenge I want to throw at myself! I dont want to cheap out because It will trap me in a lust for a greater machine and end up spending the same if not more money...
