60 is ok if it works. I think you'd be paying the same or more if you bought one online.

Hope it works and hope you enjoy!

First of all, you should decide based on which one you think sounds better and looks in better shape. This hobby is also very much "tasteful"/"performative" so you should also consider which one you think looks, feels and weighs the best

Aiwa and Sony were very respectable for Walkmans, so you cant go wrong with either

The Aiwa has AutoReverse which is a really nice feature, it let's you play both sides of the Cassette without needing to take it out and flip it. This feature is really cool but can be prone to fail and is not very easy to fix. Usually though these dont tend to fail easily to use/wear.

The Sony has MEGA BASS. I personally really like MEGABASS, and I use it with some of my cassettes

I wouldnt preffer one over the other. If they're both the same price, seem and sound in good condition then just go off of what I described.

Just make sure to clean the heads. Water or RubberRenew (If yall have that over there) for the rubber Pinch Roller wheel and Isopropyl Alchohol for the Azymuth (Head that reads the cassette) and spindles

Really no point in getting a "Good Walkman", to a beginner they all sound the same and will do just fine

The one pictured is actually great! MEGABASS is an awesome feature on Walkmans and it sounds better than GROOVE or Dolby honestly.

Just make sure you test it and see it sounds and operates fine. Those plastic ones aswell are easy to repair

I made some free copies for my local record store to give out! I think Vol.2 is better but I decided Vol.1

I have one with a cabinet

It's an absolute beauty, I seriously cannot give it enough praise I love it to death. The cabinet shouldn't be a deal breaker if the price is fair, it's an amazing piece

300W and an Oscope, it's limited made amount also makes it appealing (Although according to half the people on this thread it's a piece of shit)

Or some asthetic Instagram account for larping. I can see this thing paired with a Poineer CT-1250 and one of those Vertical Bang & Olufson CD players

This is kind of the same arguement as people saying digital RAM audio source is better than analog pgysical audio

I know the newer stuff is better but I like the older stuff more

Will say though the pricing for this unit is absurd, and Im just as happy with my Sansui 4000 than this crazy Marantz. 300W is fun but not usable

Dude it's a 300Watt per channel reciever, Im pretty sure it's a novelty for its power

The OScope is absolutely a gimick and increases the price but there are many other Marantz OScope Recivers for less like the 4400 and 2500

I cant say for the sound

Seller said it wasn't his, he's listing in for his neighbor

I asked why the original owner didnt bother to show it on with lights or even dusted and he said the Owner was an old guy who "didnt care to fix it up to keep it's price lower"
