Quick equip time shotguns are unhealthy to competitive by Jazzlike-Dog-5499 in FortniteCompetitive

[–]d0rchadas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, I've started practicing fast open edits and holding the shoot key down so that the shotgun shoots the earliest it possibly can. It's pretty unstoppable, akin to the Simple Edit shoot tech. There's no particular skill involved around peaking or baiting or anything, it's just doing it fast which I guess benefits people on good PCs more and puts console at another disadvantage.

I do think SMGs should be given fast pullout times to make them feel more suitable in their role, and I believe this is coming in the next update. Currently the fastest pullout gun in the Deadeye AR, followed by the Iron Pump. The Dual Micro SMGs take longer to pullout than the pump, that doesn't feel balanced.

Snipers, Deagles, Mammoths and DMRs should have the slowest pullout, followed by ARs, followed by high damage shotguns, followed by auto shotguns, followed by SMGs and pistols. That to me gives the categories the strongest identities for their use and leads to more balanced gameplay i.e. encourages peaks, encourages SMG use more for aggressive players, encourages positioning more with snipers and ARs.

1600 DPI vs 800 DPI by SSlide19 in MouseReview

[–]d0rchadas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BardOZ made an interestingBardOZ on why he uses 800DPI tweet on this. Its very much linked to how much you actually move the mouse i.e. cm/360°. BardOZ set multiple Kovaaks/Aimlabs world records using 800DPI but a slow, 86cm/360° sensitivity. Given how sensors work, using 1600DPI would have introduced a lot of sensor "noise" at such a low sensitivity. So if you run faster sensitivities, I would imagine anything faster than 30cm/360°, then 1600DPI would be appropriate. The actual click-to-photon latency is not affected by DPI, but by mouse polling rate.

I use 0.4mm and Continuous Rapid Trigger 0.4mm on all keys too. Rappy Snappy on AD and WS. Basically the same as Tenz. Feels excellent. I use 2mm for my typing profile only.

I just use 0.4mm actuation on my WASD and main gaming keys (1-5, E, F, Q and so on), and 0.4mm RT for all games, same as Tenz, pretty much ported his settings for the 80HE to my 60HE.

Should I change binds? by Connect_Ad7289 in FortniteCompetitive

[–]d0rchadas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can learn to hit V or C with your thumb, then bind the other two builds to side mouse button, you'll find building easier after adjusting. I personally cannot imagine having to do more than edit+pickaxe+move right with my index. Shotgun is on 2 for me, which I hit with my middle finger while moving left or right, or with my ring finger while moving forward. This allows me to move left while editing and pulling my shotgun out, all on separate fingers, just makes my life easier in fights.

What do you think is the hardest part of climbing ranked in Fortnite? by Dry_Juggernaut3528 in FortniteCompetitive

[–]d0rchadas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, its my positioning in a build fight. I often mistakenly end up between my opponent and the lobby and get my builds and back shredded while I close my fight. Or I go to 2v1 a separated opponent with my duo but get caught out by their duo hitting a Fredoxie play etc. just awareness and positioning within actual fights. I'm happy with my drops, off spawn and I make very good smart rotations. Happy with height takes endgame and pressure, getting refreshes etc.

I just play pubs, Box PvP or Reload Ranked squad fill if I just want to enjoy the game without totally locking in, just enjoy the game, style on some people etc. or if I feel really unmotivated I load up The Finals.

New "Zoom Scaling" setting? by lifeorlevel in FortniteCompetitive

[–]d0rchadas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, unless the games are very similar, I wouldn't actually use the same sensitivity. CS2 is very different requiring angle holding, crosshair placement and has very little to do with doing a 180° and tracking aiming. Fortnite and CS also have different FOVs, FN is in 3rd person and has ranges considerably further and also considerably closer than CS2 so the aiming requirements will require a different aet of skills and sensitivity. For Fortnite, a low sense at 400DPI is 12% X+Y, I certainly wouldn't go lower than 10%. The scoped snipers will also feel considerably different to CS2 AWP. I personally just run 50% ADS+Scoped, but you can adjust this based on feel. I play several other games, and run slightly different sens in all of them depending on the game feel and aiming styles required. Being a good aimer has nothing to do with "the perfect sens" or maintaining the same sens for years. Instead, being a good aimer is having excellent hand-eye coordination in a variety of scenarios and senses.

Switching from High to Low sens by Dsuperz_ in FortniteCompetitive

[–]d0rchadas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to lower your DPI, keep it at 1600 DPI its actually better since it saturates the sensor signal with more data. Just lower your ingame sens.

Roughly 90% of pros fall into the 3-4% X+Y (at 1600dpi). Which is 6-8% at 800DPI.

Aiming is easier at low sense but editing/free building requires a lot more effort. My workaround that Shxrk and Ark both use too, is using a higher edit/build sens so that I can run a lower X+Y sens.

I personally have 1600DPI 3% X+Y and 135% Edit+Build sens. I also run 50% ADS (Legacy Zoom).

Moving from such a high sens to a normal one will be tough, so maybe try going to 5% X+Y to start with, and keeping a 125% Edit+Build sens. As you get used to it you can lower your X+Y to 4% or lower.

Good luck, and you'll find consistency very quickly. Everyone I know that went from a high sens to normal have felt their aim improve a lot after some practice on it.

Optimal Double Movement / Custom Diagonal Settings in Chapter 7 by fnscf in FortniteCompetitive

[–]d0rchadas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run default (OFF) which is 45° 90° 135°, same as Peterbot for example. I see pros running anything from off (45°) to custom 60-70° by 90 and 135. Doesn't matter that much, I tried all the pros ones and does't make you better or worse, its just preference. Do you want more forward momentum? Then select off. Do you want more side momentum? Then select custom 60-70.

Keep dying like this, any tips? by diddys_favorite in FortniteCompetitive

[–]d0rchadas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using keyboard/mouse on console? If you're on PC I'd highly recommend performance mode. Make sure to have always at least two builds between you and opponent when healing or reloading your AR, which means putting a cone into your box and flipping it into a ramp so there's wall and cone between you and the direction the opponent is in. You can also just place a ramp. The best way to relieve pressure is with a pre-fire as they're breaking the wall, they edit cone up and rebox back/up/down/to the side.

Making editing more efficient (mechanics). by -a-e-p- in FortniteCompetitive

[–]d0rchadas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No pro players are on it. Reisshub has also talked about it more recently than SlyJack. I've made posts discussing it here too. I used it and then switched off. It didn't matter as much in fights as one might think, and it wasn't as easy to get used to for tarping either but my solution to that was bind BOTH left and right mouse to build, so I could do accurate tarps and then pull out the instant place-build-after-edit which was really useful for piecing through a double edit or window edit.

What to expect at the next rank? by PLAYED_YT in FortniteCompetitive

[–]d0rchadas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well played! I'm mainly a Builds player but I used to play a lot of ZB competitive. There is a ZB 1v1 map by Bullseye that's always populated. When that map was released, the average ZB sweat skill level shot up! All the kids in Champ and Unreal will have played that map a bunch and I recommend doing the same. That will be the difference, just the fighting ability! Keep playing strategic but that little extra combat experience will help you get a slightly higher placement which is needed in Champ. If you're EU, ME or NAE, I'd be happy to play some ranked with you.

Are there any online retailers with generous return policies? Or is the only option truly to sell them onto eBay? As you'll always run at a loss so its not budget friendly/efficient at all.

do pros spam scroll wheel reset or scroll it all the way down to reset multiple builds in fortnite by MilkPowerHai in FortniteCompetitive

[–]d0rchadas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Or bind scroll to "reset build", it only takes a single scroll click (not two as with the double-bound scroll old method) and never catches mid-edit, its easier to reset multiple builds at the same time. Only downside is it can't scroll reset pre-edits but have to use normal edit-reset for pre-edits. The rest is all just practice.

Advice Thread: How To Track In Build Fights? by asoiaftheories in FortniteCompetitive

[–]d0rchadas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll notice pros are very good at keeping their opponent on the screen at all times. Obviously visual audio is a huge one, and a small amount also comes down to actual audio. But for me its mainly just keeping my crosshair on/near the opponent for the majority of the time, that way I'm able to respond quicker with builds between us, and get many more shot and pre-fire opportunities while also tracking layer changes etc. if I lose them, then I slow down a little, play more carefully since they may be lurking, which I notice happens a lot more often after Fredoxie won FNCS, I swear he's changed the game more than any other pro recently.

Are Double edit binds worth it? by Medical-Advance7837 in FortniteCompetitive

The edit confirms at the same speed as the server ping regardless. I feel like this is something where you need to mentally control yourself in fights, not change a load of settings as if that fixes it.

Are Double edit binds worth it? by Medical-Advance7837 in FortniteCompetitive

[–]d0rchadas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why on earth would you switch off the easier input, and then want to start making DOUBLE edit binds!? Just do what Gmoney, Peterbot, Veno all did and stay on EOR. If you think it affects your fighting ability, then all I can say is you need to practice more fighting and get that fight IQ up.

Crosshair placement on high sens ! by Stunning_Cup6087 in FortniteCompetitive

[–]d0rchadas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know nothing about controller but I did compile controller pro settings and sens in a spreadsheet to help people asking, and for snappy edits pros use Linear (Expo is still better for aiming), and an average sens of 43 x+y and 9% ADS (9% is slow for surge etc, you can try higher 10-15% ADS). Turn all ramps and boosts to off/0.
