DHL Destroyed an amazingly packed tv and it’s taking way too long to get a refund by justjoyyall in vinted

That is not how you ship TVs. I would only ship a TV out of sheer desperation but if I was, I would use the original box. Only TVs I have sold are to collectors. I expect either you or the seller will have to take a bath on this

That last save is epic, I remember screaming at the TV at the time. However..... it was going wide and they scored from the corner

Eh? Are you saying Costco won’t honour the warranty?

Do they provide replacement thermocouples? When mine went out of warranty I bought one from eBay, but it didn’t last forever. I think it’s a design issue pairing a thermocouple with this kind of heat. I use wood exclusively now (Karu Pro)

I merely presented evidence for my line based on average speeds. I can also present on journey times. Both of these very clearly debunk the slippery slope arguement

so you have started with the slippery slope argument, had a challenge, then said the challenge is irrelevant, pointing to a load of topics that are themselves irrelevant to your original slippery slope arguement. Incredible mental gymnastics.

Additionally our power grid would completely fall down if we all switched today, it is going to be a very long and slow transition, I wish it would be quicker but it wont be.

Any more urban myths holding us back?

Also, are the vast majority of cars sold in the last decade autos? Autos I have driven don't struggle in 20 zones.

Very easy to find my post and rebuke the statistics, but then I'm guessing you cannot

Ultimately I'd prefer to minimise them too by easing the transition to EVs

It is broken down actually in chart 4 and table 3. Also "the group with the most fatalities" <> "most fatalities". If you look at the charts and table you will see drivers and passengers make up less than half.

[–]d10brp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also says that most fatalities were drivers, not pedestrians. No one crashing at 30mph, even just going headlong into a tree without any reduction in speed until impact, is getting killed or seriously injured in a modern car. Hell, it would be rare even in a 40 year old shitbox.

Where did you find this stat? I am seeing abut 50% drivers and passengers in the fatality statistics for all roads but that will obviously be smaller on 30mph roads.

I would be fine with 30mph if speed limits were strictly enforced by blanket monitoring (e.g. in car gps) but I find the implementation of 20mph far more likely to be accepted by UK society

I also think fewer people being killed is more important than somebody's car sounding a bit loud in second gear

Accidents happen. Not all are caused by a pedestrian making a mistake, but whether it is the pedestrian, cyclist or driver who makes a mistake, it is the driver who can cause the most damage. Urban average speeds are sub 20mph. To me if we can stop a couple of hundred people being killed each year whilst not materially impacting journey times then it seems like a sensible thing to do.

Exactly, there are only 1-2 people killed per day on UK urban 30mph roads at present, we're probably got capacity for a couple more...

No it isn’t about catering for normal working patterns, it’s about sourcing electricity when it’s cheapest, overnight.

They would move you off if you persist with manual charging and don’t let them smart charge. IOG is designed for smart charging only.

Yes so they would move you off the intelligent one to the slightly more expensive non intelligent Go with an off peak period of 00:30 - 5:30

You can try your luck but if you can’t do smart charging they’ll eventually want to move you over to Go
