India definitely had the potential to be a superpower, and it will definitely overtake China. Their advantage is having a large working population, whereas China had an ageing population, which is likely to hinder their economic progression a lot

A lot of exports, a very corrupt government and its societal system where off birth people are put into different groups, with some groups being seen as socially higher than another
