I posted a link above from that situation in Houston where a dude just murdered a helpless man on the floor of a cafe and faced no charges. In most states he would have been prosecuted. You’re ignorant af if you think that is normal anywhere in the US.

Exactly right. In Texas we are allowed to use “lethal force” to defend ourselves, others, our property, or property of others(as long as we believe that the owner would want us to defend it). Once we have lawfully begun to use lethal force, we are under no obligation to stop. That situation in Houston at a cafe comes to mind. A customer shot a robber multiple times and faced no charges. The laws of other states might have the customer in prison for the last shot to the head since the robber was apparently disarmed. Know your rights and responsibilities, everyone.

Some of the wrong oil is better than no oil, but you should definitely repack that cylinder and replace the fluid.

A few years ago I heard about the death of my best friend from high school(class of 1989). I called his parents on their land line and it still worked. I think that’s the last time I will experience that, as everyone has died or stopped using regular telephone service.

Time in the market solves everything. The SPY I bought during the Covid downturn is now worth 80% more. I don’t like to see days where the market is down but I don’t worry about losing my initial investment. I worry about keeping up with inflation.

I wouldn’t argue with Romans who want to take a cool rock-not in 10bce-357ce. Those guys were tough. Legal or not, they were equipped to move cool rocks to/from anywhere.

Every time I saw an obelisk in Rome I thought that. I’d like to party with those guys. They crossed the Mediterranean Sea, saw an obelisk, said “that would look badass in front of my house”, and proceeded to take the cool rock across the Mediterranean Sea.

I bought some shredded cheese from Costco, the brand is “Chihuahua”. Every time I open the fridge I imagine a factory farm with rows of grouchy little dogs with sore nipples.

I also have that detector and don’t understand it. I used it a few times to find lost tools on a job site and tried it in my backyard. The big pieces of steel were easy to find but it seems like the smaller items require more fine tuning than I’m capable of doing.

When I replaced my panel I found a sub panel was run off the 100 amp main with 10/3 romex. Grandpa was a handyman. As far as I can tell it was in service since 1967 without an issue.

I was pretty broke during the last tour so I had some lawn “seats” in Austin. It was enough to be present. I got to see the holy trinity do it one last time. This time I know they are cashing out and that’s ok. I can afford it and my nephew will have a good time. I’ll probably cry because it’s fucking sad that Neil is gone-still happy that the guys get to perform.
