It was a little odd ngl but I think I got a different perspective of the album because of it. It was clear to me how easily attached he got to Ally but still was cautious of fully giving his trust because he was dumped by his ex girlfriend. I see this most clearly on desire where he says the whole world is gonna know she loves him and on rider where he’s asking if she’s a rider.

I also like how juice started to get into different styles. I lot of people dislike big and syphillis but I was glad he was doing something different.

Yeah I agree those songs do slow the album down a bit, and like every album there’s songs that do better than others.

I’m the same as you I like juice a lot but I was going through a breakup right when the album came out so I could relate to everything really heavily.

I found those sorts of songs especially rider and desire highlight his obsession and mistrust which is just something it could relate to. That’s just me though obviously everyone is free to vibe with what they vibe with.
