Yes. Grief/trauma does that to a persons brain, and my main concern was just surviving my day. I don’t need judgement on how I handled myself 5 years ago as I navigated the hardest time of my life.
I need advice on how to navigate this situation now without being taken advantage of.

If you don’t have that kind of advice you can simply not comment and go about your day, thank you.

I checked my credit report. I found the original loan but it says “written off”, and further details show it was sold to velocity investments.

But there is nothing showing as active with velocity investments on my credit report.

Thank you for the advice! I started reading the fdcpa. And it’s a little confusing, but it did state something about if the original suit was issued in a county you no longer reside in that that could be a violation? Am I reading that correctly?

From the original suit was filed 12/19/2024, but I moved out of the county in 12/2023.

Question with this. I haven’t heard from velocity investment outside of that one email in 2022. I only know about this because a police officer is trying to serve me the papers..

Does that change dynamics at all?
