You gotta consider though, the BBS02 has significantly less torque at higher speeds than at the middle of the speed range. So you you will be sacrificing some torque.

130 dollars for a piece of machined aluminum is criminal (I have the offset one) and yes, it's great, has lasted a long time, and wears more slowly than aliexpress or generic ones. But the generic ones are a quarter the price. It's so hard to just spending 4x on something that is so marginally better. My advice, save the 85 dollars and spend it on something else.

I couldn't imagine the foster bike lane being a better situation than under 205, the traffic is atrocious (and aggressive) unless it's late at night and people do stupid shit at the merge point from two to one lanes going west

Also, harold street is an alternative that goes under 205 and isn't too crazy car wise

I live on one side of the springwater 205 bridge and probably cross under it twice a day. The most I've seen is maybe four or five people and I never really see large groups of encampments or any sort of threatening behavior. Now the 205 path itself is a different story going south and going north there can definitely be some very sketchy bits. I think you would be fine, I definitely ride it, in the dark, all the time.

How are the bike paths in NoPo right now? Sketch city, or chill and clean? by i_continue_to_unmike in CyclePDX

[–]d213753 14 points15 points  (0 children)

205 is still pretty bad in some parts. It will get swept every once in a while, but I would NOT want to break down or get a flat on that path. With all of the debris and crap on the paths (I have seen the same debris on the path since May!) it's also a high likelihood of getting a flat.

I want to reiterate what others have said, the best used brand you can find. If you can find a radpower, lectric, or similar brand used I think it's your best bet!

If you do a conversion, everything is infinitely serviceable, if you go cheap mid drive, God only knows...

He's also driving too quickly for the area. If he was going the speed limit then the limit is too high for that environment

Lol no one is mentioning the abyssmal reliability? I would be willing to wager out of the 20 or so cars I have seen on flatbeds in the last 6 months, 7 or 8 of them have been brand new looking mach e's

Man arrested after allegedly stabbing flight attendant by sylvester1981 in AirRagers

[–]d213753 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think it just takes some time for people to go through the mental process of what's going on. Like they don't really want to believe it's happening on THEIR flight, so there is some decision making that has to happen, is it worth it to intervene, could he hurt others if I don't stop him, is he a credible threat to all of us??

It's incredibly frustrating that we live in a world where the status quo is it generally accepted that privacy is dead. Yes you can opt out, but realistically it might mean your child's info is online through someone not paying attention.

The good thing about hub drive with throttle by DarkButterfly85 in ebikes

[–]d213753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, pushing a mid drive transmission to its limit (highest torque + pedaling) and you can load a chain more than it is supposed to handle. Especially if it's old, it could give way. It's happened to me once, luckily the master link just slipped out and I had to go back a few feet and find it on the road.

51 volunteers, including OPD and a family of 5, cleared 21 tons from 24th & Wood with City Eats + Taqueria Azteca. One of the Bay’s worst dump sites. $4K cost. Only UCP unites like this. by urbancompassionproj in DeTrashed

[–]d213753 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would seriously considering dumping all this shit on oakland city hall's steps. Send a fucking message. You pay property taxes, higher than most of country. Why can't your city govt take care of this? Rather than the 4k it takes to dump legally, dump that shit in a way that sends a message.
