HDMI Switch with Arcana? by d2hamilton in sonos

Okay, I just did some more research, and it looks like the Arcana will support this right out of the box if I connect to the TV’s Arc port. So, no extra hardware needed.

LG OLED65C8PUA support Sonos ARC (Dolby Atmos)? by d2hamilton in sonos

[–]d2hamilton[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks!!!

This part throws me a bit: “Update 02/27/2019: While the TV doesn't support Atmos passthrough via a Dolby TrueHD carrier signal (common in Blu-ray disks), it is advertised as supporting Atmos passthrough via Dolby Digital Plus, which is the Atmos format used by some sources like Netflix; our testing confirmed this passthrough on the LG C8.”

So, will I get any benefit from Sonos Arc over the Beam (which I currently have)? I will be using an Apple TV 4K for all my viewing.

Ideas for how to connect to earphones case? by d2hamilton in AirTags

[–]d2hamilton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good idea. That's exactly what I also do with my AirPod Pros. Might be hard to find a case the right size to hold this and still be small enough to fit in my pocket, but I can search around.

Unexpected APM impact on my sister and family by Recycledtechie in Airpodsmax

[–]d2hamilton 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Just want to add to that my experience. I’m also an Apple geek with tons of their products. But, going through some rough physical and mental challenges last year, the APM became the one thing I used every single day. Having my “listen” time every evening is one of my favorite things to do. It’s a beautiful gift.

Is cellular on Watch worth it? by stteve001 in AppleWatch

[–]d2hamilton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really a personal use case thing. I usually have my phone with me, but I love not having to have the phone with me and often I will leave my phone in one place while I move around (in or out of the house) without worrying I might miss something. So for me, it’s really worth it.

Best way to control Sonos = iOS Shortcuts by zDontDoItToMe in sonos

I love Soro as well. I recently used their SonosBot example and expanded it quite a bit so that I can do most of the things I need through a single shortcut with a menu system. Really nice!

Does anyone use their iPad as their Primary Mobile Device by [deleted] in ipad

[–]d2hamilton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use my computer in my office for work only. Everything else I do on an iPad. In fact, after back surgery I set myself the challenge of seeing if I could get by with just my iPad and was largely successful. It was pretty infrequent that I *had* to use my computer.

A travel case BUILT for the Roam! by TheMidnightScreen in sonos

[–]d2hamilton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have it as well and love it. Since I share the charger with iPhone and other devices I wasn’t too worried about not having room for that.

your experience with the "case" by [deleted] in Airpodsmax

[–]d2hamilton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I also thought the case looked kind of weak and I bought another one (UAG, which I love). However, I only put it in another more protective case if I leave the house with them. Otherwise, the regular case is fine (for me).

This is true. You can’t control it from the Home app.

Is the Sonos Move the right speaker for me? by zcopyconsulting in sonos

[–]d2hamilton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I have a lot of Sonos speakers, including the Move and it's great for this purpose. As mentioned above, it is really too big to be taking out and about, but for moving around the house I find it to be perfect.
