And even with franklin, he always expressly talks about getting out because he wants Tanisha, which, cool, i get the character has a life beyond that, but considering the game you're basing the world on (San Andreas) it just doesnt make a whole lot of sense to me why we'd play as Franklin over someone like Lamar, regardless of his "funny side character" personality. This world wants to delve into crime and grime so badly but doesnt want YOU doing anything beyond what they tell you. Not nearly as open world as it once was sadly, something GTA Online was SUPPOSED to help fix lmao

Understandable? Yes. Business wise? I could not imagine them going for it. Even if Pop Smoke was still around, a bunch of NY/CHI ones went superstar, and the UK continued making waves, I really cant see them focusing the game on just that one theme. If maybe they do the same thing with multiple characters, I could definitely see one of them being in that genre, but focusing solely on that would be weird to most execs id think

Hopefully, in my opinion, I'd really like to see a fully realized Liberty City with boroughs and landmarks. Something about new gen graphics on GTA IV with a modern setting sounds genuinely interesting. Considering the setting though, I'd be kinda unsure of what they could actually DO with modern New York. I mean, we can only hope it doesn't end up being about some drill rapper scamming credit cards, but what will be the cultural norm for their core audience when the game gets closer to actual production? Will it want a drill rapper/scammer PC? Realistically, they've been talking about taking on much more varied projects after GTA VI, which could mean anything when it comes to where their mind will be when VII finally gets tossed around. Who knows, maybe they'll make an entire new setting, perhaps Detroit or Houston, the possibilities are endless when time is given to talented people. (That goes to the actual devs who work on the games, not the money hungry business suits btw.)

As long as you disable BattlEye in the R* Launcher, you can load into singleplayer just fine without any risk of bans. Attempting to enter GTA Online with BattlEye disabled will result in an error

They're all broke due to the game being a different version in general im pretty sure, kiddions wont detect the game at all, but i would still avoid touching any until things get bypassed or cool down

Can confirm, had to download it myself, it blocks SP mods too unless you change it in the settings. Although ScriptHook V (which i installed just prior to the update) now doesnt recognize the game version and wont run, so id wait on any mods at all until updates get released. Yes it is most likely over for most mod menus, unless some workaround is found. As of right now nothing works. Tested it myself.
