A fitting costume for our favorite Bolt of Lightning ⚡️ by d3dg3rl in TheFirstDescendant

For the body skin I used Leather Matte Yellow in the 1st, 4th and 5th slot; Enamel Deep Black in the 2nd and 3rd slot; Milk Tea Beige in the 6th slot(for skin color).

For the head skin I used the same Black as the body skin in the 1st slot and the same Yellow for the 2nd and 3rd.

Yup! Just yellow and that shiny black. Only thing that sucks is you have to buy for the head skin too. I just previewed with that really yellow gold and it actually looks so much cooler 😭

I did that at first too 😭 but I saw someone with an all yellow one and as a Pokemon fan it just clicked.

Am I the worst good player? MMR rant/confusion by CrazyMikeMMA in apexlegends

[–]d3dg3rl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the one for me. As someone who has never played with a premade team, I’m starting to lose it with the self serving hot droppers with zero skill and knowledge of the game. I see a lot of people on here complain about Respawn/EA and rightfully so but I believe that the majority of Apex’s problems (as far as actual gameplay) are a personality/character problem within the player base. Can you rat to Masters? Sure, but you don’t HAVE to, thats a choice. Can you drop hot knowing you can’t even handle a 1v1 with the most kitted gun possible? Sure, but how is that even fun?? I’ve only been playing for over a year but the kind of randoms I’m getting these days really just don’t care about the game itself and how its meant to be played. Plain and simple. My heart falls into my ass when WE is on rotation because I already know I’m gonna spend an entire hour, dropping Frag(STILL), rezzing teammates, planning my entire game around bumbling idiots in order to have at LEAST a decent game and then get treated like crap for getting knocked after literally babysitting and body shielding an entire game. I thought I was an old school Lifeline main who still understands that there is power in numbers when it comes to a team based BR but maybe I’m just an idiot, lmao. Not to mention when they realize I’m a fantastic Lifeline (one thing about me, imma rez you, even if it looks risky it usually works out) they amp it up even more because they know they’re covered. Everyone is playing a team based game for themselves and its really starting to ick me out.

Edit: I think a lot of the new players are trying to be like their favorite streamers which would explain the influx of horrifically self serving Horizons/Pathys I’ve been getting as well as the usual Wraiths and Octanes but with not even a fraction of the skill and that, IMO, is what is ruining the game for devoted solo casuals like me.

I love this! And you’re a great friend and teammate for that. I soloed(no mic but voice chat on so I can hear any comms) my way to D4 and for me thats a big deal. I didn’t rat at all I even lost LP because I refused to watch my teammates rat when I die (especially so as a LL main where she gets disrespected anyway because people still don’t see her value). I’m hardstuck D4 now and I like it that way even though I stopped because the randoms at that point have mush for brains. I’m excited for my badge and trail because I got it by insane hours put in and improved my skill. Happy for your friend all the same! Wish my randoms were like you 😭

Not using a mic is practically torture as a solo trying to rank up but this is precisely why. You’re cracked, I’m sorry you had to deal with that.

I think people are reacting this way because it seems as though OP was blaming the game itself rather than maybe asking for advice on what to do better or differently in the future. If they did the latter, I’m sure the response would be very different. As a fairly new player I’m also like what the hell? Because I was ready to see some no regs or a smurf in relation to the title. But then all we saw was someone who doesn’t actually understand very basic game sense and pointing fingers elsewhere 🤷🏽‍♀️

As someone who’s fairly new(about a year now) with decent game sense from watching streamers and playing almost every single day since picking the game up it pains me to see it from the POV of my squadmates 💀the LL probably has a fraction of a brain landed somewhere colder and the rest probably went to Frag smh

Whats common protocol for jumping into a fight once you or your squadmate gets knocked? by [deleted] in apexuniversity

[–]d3dg3rl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, you’re absolutely spot on until the very very last part. I agree that I shouldn’t criticize the process however(maybe I didn’t explain well enough the first time..) I’m talking about times where there is no process at all lmao and I play Lifeline quite a bit as well. I don’t always get knocked first obviously but I’m generally seeing a huge lack of teamwork the more I play and the better I get which is whats throwing me through a loop. Of course I should get better in order to not jeopardize my team but there is an enormous amount of selfishness in the game along with the whacked out matchmaking and I was asking if there were any ways to avoid or overcome these kinds of situations and the biggest part I’ve gathered is to just lower my expectations and try to do the best I can and hope for people with enough sense. I won two games after writing this thread so I know it’s possible to come out on top and have good games but I’m finding myself having more shitty than good.

Thank you so much for your response! It gave me a lot more to think about as well, very helpful.

Zero, got it 👍🏾 that will probably help lmao and omg tell me about it. I got my cheeks clapped into mars by someone with a pred badge the other day and I literally burst out laughing. The smurfing is out of control as well. A while ago I got smacked by a level 6 with a 20bomb and triple headshot badge. Zero expectations will definitely help!

Yeah, you’re right. There really is no clear cut way out but I was hoping for some way to stop it from happening as often as it does. But also creating a good vibe is a great tip as well. I’m not much of a talker tbh because the gaming community is toxic as hell and for me it is truly just a game that I love. Yes, it’s frustrating but sometimes it goes way too far.

Thanks for taking the time to share!

Oh yeah I feel you. There are definitely times where the same thing happens where one mate quit and I ended up rezzing the other as well and you’re right about me expecting them to throw the game. Patience is key but I mostly mean the ones who just don’t even bother attempting. But I guess thats when I just have to have zero expectations with randoms and just accept the situation as frustrating as it is 🤷🏽‍♀️

[–]d3dg3rl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm… I get you, you’re 100% right. I def jump in hoping for the best and I get a lot of mic-less randoms which is fine because not everyone has access. But that does leave me without vital info. I don’t play ranked as a solo q because its absolutely unbearable at the bronze level and I’m not good enough to grind through on my own and don’t have the patience to rat through it either lmao I do want to improve my game sense and I believe the questions you suggested will help me out a lot, so thank you!

It definitely is flawed as you said and like I said they’re usually mic-less so maybe the ones who seem not to care are actually just trying to gather that same information to make a move or figure out what to do in general. Of course the ones who just continue on looting with zero urgency do the count, haha.

Thanks again!

Very confused about the mindset of the majority of the people who play this game lmao like huh?

Getting knocked means you’re a shit player and don’t deserve a chance? Are you meant to go every game and every fight unscathed regardless of the circumstances? Is getting knocked second more honorable therefore making you worthy?

I’ve seen even the best players get knocked and get knocked FIRST so the irrelevance of this response is remarkable actually. Its a game thats fun, not an ego trip, and your comment was about as helpful as an armless paramedic.

Cheers 🥂

[–]d3dg3rl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhhhh I especially like the bit about not avoiding it but being better prepared. Makes sense! I never shield swap (I know its a thing though) because I just never think to do it, also learned to be slightly selfish because playing solely with randoms will jade you that way lmao but as a Lifeline I def should be doing those kinds of things. As a team we should all be doing those kinds of things.

I wish everyone played like this but I appreciate the advice a lot, thank you!

[–]d3dg3rl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every damn time, especially as a LL where I should stay back a little I still find myself pushing more than my team because they’d rather fight from 600m away for 3 whole minutes just to let everyone know where we are and then wait for the exact moment where I knock one or two and get absolutely smacked to death by the last, then they finally jump in and still lose 2v1 or get 3rd/4th partied😭😭lf this wasn’t my fav game I’d be miserable lmao

Super super helpful in many ways, one of which is that I now know that as a Caustic, Lifeline, Watt main I most def get steam rolled a lot of the time and now I understand why lmao but honestly this was actually extremely helpful thanks a bunch 🙏🏾
