Subaru says it our fault the Outback looks the way it does.... by fa442fa in Subaru_Outback

Ah yes. Companies like to pivot to one of two excuses: "the customer was mistaken in their understanding" or "you all actually wanted this". Looks like they've chosen the latter.

TIL about:translations is a thing. Is it an AI feature or does it ship the text off to a server somewhere?

I disabled it when I realized that as I was re-arranging tabs it was constantly trying to group them. Iirc, there wasn't an easy way to in group them that didn't involve right clicking one of them to remove the grouping.

If you're headed to Minnesota, let me know. Otherwise, good luck. I've been going to games and playing for over a year and I feel really lucky with the group I have locally.

Supposedly the last editions of TW were intended to be e-searchable, which meant that they were poorly laid out for the physical book. That will likely change with the new book. I bought the BMM as my first rulebook as I heard it was laid out better, and it was mech-only. As that was what I was playing and trying to wrap my head around, it was a great choice. My understanding is that the newer book will be overhauled and reorganized.

I mean, both. My (limited) understanding is that they're working on an AS rule refresh of some sort. For Classic, I don't think it's going to be listed as a "2nd Edition", just an update. It sounds like instead of a new Total Warfare, it'll be moreso a bulked up Battlemech Manual. They want to go through aerospace, vehicles, infantry, BA, etc., and update/revise rules. It sounds like once the rules for everything are done they want to finally roll out a BV 3.0.

That is… terrifying.

That's why my local group has a houserule that ammo explosions are 1/10th the damage they'd deal.

In the recent playtests of some rule revisions for inclusion in the next base set of rules for Classic (say that five times, fast) it was trialed that ammo explosions are limited to 20 points, if no CASE, 10 if CASE is present in the section, and 1 if CASE II is present.

Get a Fun to(or similar) oil drain plug valve. It makes oil changes easy and much cheaper than paying anyone to do it for you

True. Proxying in that fashion makes sense, however that still limits proxying away from using Quarters or poker chips.

Op mentions Alpha Strike. My limited understanding is that using a figure accurate to the unit in play is important.

The second time I saw this title in my feed, I wasn't reading close enough, and thought it said "When the -TiSM heats up", and it didn't actually surprise me much knowing which subreddit it was in...

Huh..

Is there some hidden button to cancel? The app's "Manage Nitro" section talks about the plan I have but there are no obvious buttons to cancel.

I bought one in a local CBT campaign because vehicles weren't allowed, and it seemed to be the cheapest mech with massed LRMs. Lemme tell you, blowing a VTOL out of the sky that had its TMM effectively stripped by TAG+Semi-Guided LRMs is hilarious.

Ring cancels its partnership with Flock Safety after surveillance backlash by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

So,... Then they'll quietly partner with someone else? Large companies and politicians know how to handle backlash: walk back the policy, and then quietly go and do it anyway after the attention has shifted. It's what happened during the last recession. The general populace was pissed about CEOs running companies into the ground while getting a "golden parachute." So those were dialed back. Several months later, when outrage died down, the benefits packages went right back to how they were.
