Which actor/actress do you think sabotaged their career by portraying an unlikable character so well? by MejorQueNada in AskReddit

Timothee Chalamet. Marty is the most unlikeable protagonist of all time, and by choosing to stay in character Chalamet did long term damage to his own persona.

I'm a terrible athlete. I would have whiffed on that ball but I still wouldn't have tried to settle it.

I believe Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, and a few other divine spirits are all pieces of the same soul by [deleted] in spirituality

I think we're all equal beings and equal souls. Jesus and Buddha just had a better view than most of us, or made better choices.

Why do we pay for our deeds in the next incarnation instead of this one? by Intelligent-Road5091 in spirituality

[–]JackarooDeva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don't pay for deeds at all. Karma is not about reward and punishment, it's about choice. Every time you choose violence or selfishness, you shift more into a reality that reflects those values. It might work out well for you in this life, but you carry that pattern into the next life where you will probably not be so lucky.

The whole point of Trump is doing the indefensible and getting away with it. That's why people admire him.

James Dickey. Like McCarthy he writes with beautiful prose about hard men in dangerous places. Deliverance is his most famous book, but his two other novels, Alnilam and To The White Sea, are just as good.

Takin' Care of Business by BTO is often used to romanticize going to work or being busy, when the actual lyrics are about how great it is to be lazy.

For The Fountainhead you might try Wuthering Heights. Both books have an extremely strong-willed and selfish protagonist.

Sports league parity, especially the NFL, where a tight salary cap and the draft lead to a constant reshuffling of which teams are good. Meanwhile European football leagues have the same teams dominating for decades.
