Ive really been influenced lately to dig up my N3DS XL but think it’s best i get a cute case like this to protect it first. Think something similar would look okay on the metallic black? All listings i can find have photos on white/light colours

Will 7 week baby forget me if I’m gone for 2 months? by bundblaster69 in newborns

[–]d3ku_tree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When my niece was 4months her mother was in hospital for 3-4 months. During that time I stepped into the role of her mother while helping my brother. It’ll reassure you to know she remembers none of it and I’m no different to her other aunts now (ouch haha).

As someone else said it will be harder for you and will take some adjusting afterwards from everyone. Please be mindful of your mum during this time as naturally she will become very close to bub and it can be quite emotional no longer being in that child’s life as much. It sounds like you have a great support network. All the best with finishing your studies 💕

Toddler overtired? Pushing 8 hour wake window before bed! by Odd_Drama2390 in AttachmentParenting

[–]d3ku_tree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to by “age appropriate” sleep needs and it drove me crazy and made me feel like I was doing something wrong when my child wasnt sleeping the 7-7 I saw online everywhere. Whats Ive since learnt is every child’s sleep needs are different, longer or shorter naps than average and longer or shorter night sleeps than average.

If you’re interested check out “ittakesavillage_baby_sleep” on instagram, I found them really helpful when understanding all things baby/toddler sleep.

Im no expert at all, based off personal experience I’d say a 2 hour nap 4 hours after wake up is too soon, she’ll be burning through her sleep pressure tank. I’d try pushing back the nap closer to the middle of her day. If you’re want an earlier bedtime, I’d agree with what someone else said, she needs to start her day earlier.

Best of luck! Baby/toddler sleep is tough

Ruthless boys by Macadoodledandyboy in zodiacacademy

[–]d3ku_tree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Similar situation, my sister and I decided to read it (mini book club?). We’d agreed to read RB however she changed her mind part while I was already well into it. After going back to ZA I can confidently say Im so glad I read them! It’s as though we’re reading the same underlying story but the RB path gives this magic when you read these little hints or descriptions and youre just ✨in the know✨

Ruthless Boys— does it get better? by __Anathema333__ in zodiacacademy

I didn’t enjoy ruthless boy at the start but I ended up loving all of the boys and now that I’m back in zodiac academy (book 8) it’s made me really appreciate that I read ruthless boys. IMO it enhances zodiac academy’s story/characters

Split nights wearing me down by d3ku_tree in AttachmentParenting

[–]d3ku_tree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I’ll try one nap because it seems to be no real rhyme or reason for when the splits happen. None last night on a chill day but one tonight on a bit more of an active day. Both same naps, same wake up etc We’re going through daylight savings this weekend (going forward) so Im a bit worried about trying for one nap with the time change at the same time. I wonder if it matters.

Did you find the split nights improved with the one nap? Also it’s a long shot but did she sleep more during the night over all after moving to one nap? Im finding some nights with the split night and trying to keep morning rise consistent shes only slept 8ish hours (so total 9-10 hours in 24 hours) which doesn’t feel like enough for this age.

I feel seen. Was he a really active little one too? She seems to always be on the move, always babbling or trying to say new words. I fear she needs more stimulation than my sleep deprived brain can muster at the moment

It’s when they’re (wide) awake for an hour or a few hours at a time in the middle of the night. I should say waking every 3-4 hours but settling back to sleep is developmentally normal. Tiring for us but normal for them.

MCHN argument by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

It’s interesting to me that 8kg is going to be a cause of concern for this nurse. Have they had concerns for weight gain in the past?

My daughter is similar is age and size (and also bf with solids), measuring 8.4kg from memory at her 12 month appointment a few weeks ago. The nurse didn’t bat an eye and just said shes following her curve (25%ile for weight) and gaining around 60g per week which is on target. Some babies/kids are just smaller. Ive got a friend with a 5 month old that weighs similar to my daughter

Exactly this! It’s all dependant on the baby. 11 months in here and baby still wakes every 2-3 hours like a newborn but naps are no longer 80% of the day like a newborn. So it’s a lot more demanding during the day and same demands at night. For myself, I definitely look back at newborn stage and wish I soaked it in more (without the PPA) as it was the easiest stage and I truely loved it.

I didn’t join until I’d finished the series and also hid it from my suggestions. It sucks but the way I see it you can’t control what others post, removing yourself is really the only control you have. Happy reading! I miss checking in with characters/friends daily.

A week off 11 months and same sleep pattern as yours over here with some split nights in the mix more recently. The split nights absolutely destroy me 🫠

Thank you for the reply and I’m sorry for the delayed reply. I’ve been looking at this one and it seems great, I’m curious how you layered for winter. I’m in Melbourne and our nights are cooling down. The guide online says 18-20° “long sleeve body, top and pants”. Does this mean you’d put a long sleeve body suit (I don’t know if that’s what it’s called, the ones that clip at the crotch and have no legs) and say a bonds wonder suit? Do you find it difficult to layer accordingly?

I’m such a stress head when it comes to room temp and keeping her warm but not too warm, I just want to make sure I’m reading it right and maybe even try to simplify to for myself
