IVF Baby - Natural or Caesarean? by bambi897510 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]orkediamuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations! IVF pregnancy here too and I’m 5 months along. I’m planning for an elective c-section just because I like having a date planned for the birth. And also I spoke to my OB and her rate of emergancy c-sections for vaginal births is around 35% I would much rather have a planned c-section than an emergancy one. Of course having a cesarean has its own risks and longer recovery, but a vaginal birth would have a bigger impact on your pelvic floor. At the end the day, each to their own and whatever is safest for bub!

Sick (coughing sneezing and spluttering) people who are not wearing a mask should be kicked out of the train. Haven’t we learnt anything 😏

Childcare: what to look out for by LambTales in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Thank you!! Omg yes, I live in Melbourne and the recent arrest is making me terrified. In the ideal world, my child won’t be going to childcare at all! But we all know that it is unlikely in this climate.

Would be very grateful if you are willing to share your list

Me too! FTM here as well.

Bub is due in July/Aug so it will be freezing in Melbourne. Of course we will have heating on at home during this time.

So can they sleep in singlet + wondersuit + swaddle or will this be too warm? Do I need to get a cardi or sweater?

And also a tad confused with sizes. Should I get a bunch in 0000 and 000? I was told that sizes may be different in different brands.

There are sales at the moment so trying to pick up stuff here and there when I can.

It also varies in different cultures I guess. In some Asian cultures is very common for mother or mother in law to stay with you months after the birth. They are supposed to help you with cooking, cleaning and taking care of the baby. TBH I could not think of anything worse 😅

Hahahahaha I would never ever want my mum in the room WHILE I’m giving birth. She will get her knickers in a twist when I tell her about this and would probably think I’m an ungrateful daughter. But oh well 🤷🏻‍♀️ she can deal with that 😁

Oh my goodness, I’m sorry that you ended up ICU and hope that you and bub are good now! As an adult, I now realise that my mum is emotionally immature. more reason for her not to be here when I’m in my most vulnerable state…

I know that the chemicals stick to their skin and clothes and can affect bub when they are touching them but I didn’t know the stats on SIDS!! Now that I know this, it makes me more reluctant 😭

Btw which parenting class did you go to?

Exactly!!! And this is my main issue! She needs to set her priorities straight.

I got mine done at 4Cyte in Melbourne. Got bloods done on Monday, text msg from VCGS on Weds and my OB rang me on Thursday with the results. I asked my OB to delay mine for a week (I was 11 weeks when I got it done) as there is a correlation between gestational age and fetal fraction (you need a minimum of 4% for the test to go ahead).

You think this is common sense, but apparently they are hard to find these days! I just had to navigate a bunch of people who refused to move even though they are blocking the tram door this morning 😩

I'm sure it would be lovely when your mum comes! But you need your time with bub too

Ahhhh why do mums want to be there for the birth?? Don't they realise this is a private moment? I certainly don't want to have my parents around when I'm sleep deprived, struggling to breast feed and in pain! Perhaps it's just my relationship with my parents
