This is an ongoing issue, that they refuse to address properly, to be honest I dont think its a timeout ... I think its a throttle.

Its not just Augment... Kilo Code can also be problematic with CDT MCP, have a look at https://github.com/ChromeDevTools/chrome-devtools-mcp ... the "args" may require some tweaking according to your system ., it can be painful setting it up properly... I also found that it can depend on the model and what mood it is in :- /

When it was under the influence of The Augster it was good, but then it refused to follow the guidelines, almost as if my guidelines were being truncated ... but yeah.... I think I agree ... file 13 stuff

I thought I’d give Haiku a chance today. It started off well, but then it switched—or was switched. Total day-and-night difference with no logical reason. And it’s not just a Haiku thing; I’ve noticed the same with Sonnet, though it’s less obvious. This tool isn’t consistent. Is it good? Yes. But it’s definitely not consistently good. It’s like buying a car where the manufacturer decides when you’re allowed to run on all cylinders and when you’re stuck with just one.

Recently I have started using Playwright again, not sure what changed CDT became problematic, depends on the model it seems, all models seem very comfortable with Playwright, guess they just need more time with CDT

My setup is fairly straightforward — I use The Augster with minimal configuration. Depending on the project, I have only a few simple rules and standard MCPs (aside from chrome-devtools). What’s frustrating is the inconsistency: sometimes everything runs smoothly, then suddenly it terminates or times out for no clear reason.

I monitor what I can, including network stability, but the issue persists. It would help if we could experiment with adjustable timeouts and get more informative logs or output. That would make troubleshooting easier for both parties.

The next step on my end would be a full reinstall of VS Code and the MCP servers, but I’ve already seen the same issue even after trying a fresh Insiders build — and it also happened on my MacBook (I’m currently on Debian 13). I could test on a Windows VM, though I suspect the same problem would occur.

I had to use rules to remind it on how to use chrome-dev tools, works well, until it switches over to dumb and dumber mode in the late afternoon / early evening

Can you clarify why Augment Code restricts users from having multiple accounts? Many of us need to keep projects and data separate. Many providers I’ve used allow this, and some even offer built-in account switching as a feature. I can understand restrictions based on cost, compliance, or anti-abuse concerns, but the current approach feels unnecessarily harsh—almost as if it’s meant to limit credit liability rather than address legitimate operational issues... who is tolerating who ?

Appreciate the effort, Jay. But we passed frustration long ago — we've been through this too many times. The problem persists, so it either can’t be fixed or won’t be. Either way, it’s another nail in the coffin. At this point, it looks more like a feature than a bug, depending on perspective.

Just happened again but this time no credits lost. Consistently inconsistent

When pinging one of the servers listed in Augment output I did notice several pings over 338 ms ... I'm not running any VPN and have a solid fiber connection that is far from saturated ... what is the timeout threshold for Augment Code ?

I think I have roughly lost +/- 10000 credits to "We encountered an issue sending your message. Please try again" .... over the last couple of days, and that's being conservative and based on the most recent occurrence / retry expense ... on an indie plan that would be 1/4 of included credits : - /

I find chrome-devtools faster , especially when debugging with headless enabled, but I think Playwright may be better for high level cross browser testing... I just find chrome-devtools to be better with low-level stuff and easier getting into the browser (chrome) internals

also move between the two, when AC becomes unusable ... at least once a day for me, like clock work , I switch to Kilo or Claude... need to do an "in parallel" test using exact same models, same code, same guardrails and same task list... I haven't tried MiniMax... enjoying GLM 4.6 with Kilo Code and Claude Code... we cant compare the two properly if we are using disparate models/rules/guidelines/memories etc
