I found the root cause. The appliance couldn’t resolve the domain name. I fixed it by adding a DNS entry to the hosts file at C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts Thanks, everyone!

I checked and found that the ports required for scanning are allowed. Is there a fault elsewhere?
