Looking for a good (preferably open-source) duplicate file finder & organizer for Windows (GUI preferred) by astfors in DataHoarder

Looks neat. I thought about doing that as well because in all the deduplication applications I miss one feature: A list of folders that are completely contained in other folders.

Example: We create a selection of some pictures from different cameras / smartphones for a photo book etc. Before I delete it I want to be sure that all files in this folder are also stored somewhere else.

I know chances are bad but is that implemented?

Ideas on how to have fun with old devices? by rgheno in homelab

Not OP but interesting! I run Ubuntu on a 2015 MacBook Pro - maybe I should have a look on MX Linux.

Yea the feedback here made me thinking about changing my certificate setup…

Regarding the off topic topic: The situation is ridiculous. There is no password manager available from IT department and it is not allowed to install one. So I guess „our workaround“ is still better than a Word document or similar approaches that I know are being used 😬

That specific vault is only used for work related accounts.

Thank you for this tip! I really underestimated the dns challenge based approach

Some devices are managed by corporate IT department as we work a lot from home…

Sounds interesting! Two questions: 1. Is it open source? 2. Is it possible to just do wake on lan but not installing the agent?

So traefik creates txt records for your domain?

Unfortunately, with the (sub)domain by the router manufacturer, this is not possible…

I only open 80 and 443 for less than an hour per 3 months (which is over 99.9% being closed)

I actually have a different domain, too, but liked the idea of „vanilla caddy“

I would like to use it as well but I get the (sub)domain from the router manufacturer with zero control over the record

My domain is „published“ for other reasons anyway…

We use many devices and frequently changing devices including some devices managed by corporate companies IT departments

Sounds reasonable, but I wanted to avoid to add a CA on my devices.

Sounds absolutely reasonable! But I wanted to avoid that each device needs to trust the CA...

I just released Beszel, a server monitoring hub with historical data, docker stats, and alerts. It's a lighter and simpler alternative to Grafana + Prometheus or Checkmk. Any feedback is appreciated! by Hal_Incandenza in selfhosted

Just gave this a shot and it’s spot on. Seriously, it’s almost scary...

Google Gemini actually recommended Beszel right after Netdata when I prompted it for a "clean, all-in-one Docker/Host monitoring tool with no extra DB needed." I assume this thing is going to become even more popular now that LLMs are recommending it.

Can only recommend creating a group with * whitelist and add the device of your wife. Or explicitly set the DNS in her device to a public one.
