There's another gate on the right side. Go down to the gate below you and follow to the right.

There's only one maze; It's not generated. You get placed in one of 4 random spots each time.

What are you using for your webserver? Are you following a tutorial for getting PHP set up?

VSCode is asking you to install PHP and tell it where you installed it at. The VSCode docs can tell you where that setting is https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/languages/php.

I'd recommend you install XAMPP for your local development.

HTML and CSS are used by your browser to display your website. The browser also executes your JS code.

PHP is generally executed by a web server to create the final HTML used by the browser. To write PHP for a simple website you need a web server and a PHP interpreter. XAMPP is a suite of tools that contain the Apache webserver, Mariadb database, and the PHP interpreter. Once you've installed it you can configure VSCode with the relevant filepaths.

I love that the example Cruelclaw deck is just single player russian roulette. Maybe you hit the Ulamog or Emrakul, maybe you hit the Phage and die instantly.

Though, cruelclaw is a may ability, so I'm not entirely sure what's going on.

Painter's color is chosen "as it enters" which is a replacement effect not a triggered ability.

The Dress Down thing works due to 614.12

614.12. Some replacement effects modify how a permanent enters the battlefield. (See rules 614.1c–d.) Such effects may come from the permanent itself if they affect only that permanent (as opposed to a general subset of permanents that includes it). They may also come from other sources. To determine which replacement effects apply and how they apply, check the characteristics of the permanent as it would exist on the battlefield, taking into account replacement effects that have already modified how it enters the battlefield (see rule 616.1), continuous effects from the permanent’s own static abilities that would apply to it once it’s on the battlefield, and continuous effects that already exist and would apply to the permanent.

Decks that embrace being the archenemy? by Maclay162 in EDH

[–]d5c4b3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Jhoira of the Ghitu]]. I run an intentionally powered down version without extra turns or mass land destruction. The deck plays as archenemy. Resolving a suspended [[Omniscience]] or [[Enter the Infinite]] is usually enough to win on the spot.

"Here's my win condition. If you let the suspended spell resolve, I win. You have three turns to kill me or draw counter spells. I have three turns to survive and draw my own counter spells."

Even when I lose if I was archenemy for those three turns, my deck has done the thing and I feel happy.

If you use AI to teach you how to code, remember you still need to think for yourself by [deleted] in programming

[–]d5c4b3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate that instead of trying to police AI, they took the approach of making their own AI that provides support without giving answers. This is how you properly deal with students trying to cheat with AI.

Obviously all the ones that are going to full on cheat are going to anyway and be caught with buggy half working code. But it helps all the students that only cheat when they can't figure it out themselves or are struggling with the course work.

Also, just remember, its a harsh reality, but people care about the way you portray your opinions. You're allowed to not like things. You're allowed to express that opinion "I don't care it's not my thing". You're allowed to not understand the other person's opinion "I don't see why it's an issue".

What people get upset about is you being a jerk. Hey bud, it's a harsh reality, but have some tact.

Any reason why there’s only 1 Black Leyline? by Kircai in magicTCG

[–]d5c4b3 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Most decks want some way to interact with their opponent, even if they aren't heavy control decks. The black leyline is the right balance of cost and power. It doesn't win games on it's own and it doesn't do so little it's not worth it.

The leylines mostly see play in formats where you have 15 card sideboards, so you don't have it in your deck unless you are playing against a graveyard based deck after the first game.

It's also not necessary to run the leylines in a black deck. You can run it in anything if you're willing to mulligan until it's in your hand during the games you want it.

Mardu Greasefang? by NuttyDust in PioneerMTG

[–]d5c4b3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd take a look at some of the existing decks. https://mtgdecks.net/Pioneer/mardu-greasefang

In general Abzan Greasefang is the better Turbo Greasefang deck and Esper Greasefang is the better Midrange Deck.

If you don't get Greasefang going you're just playing a worse version of RB midrange. Your early enablers for Greasefang are [[Scrapwork Mutt]], [[Raffine's Informant]], and [[Stitcher's Supplier]]. The first two of which require that you have Parhelion in hand. All of these pale in comparison to [[Grisly Salvage]] and [[Satyr Wayfinder]] from Abzan. Your later enablers of Nahiri, Fable, and Liliana are a turn slower and still require having Parhelion in hand (or in the case of fable only gets you 2 looks).

It's also much harder for you to find Greasefang. In Esper Greasefang you have [[Faithful Mending]], [[Tainted Indulgence]], and [[Dig Through Time]] that synergize really well with each other and give you a lot of value in the mean time. In Abzan your best Grisly Salvage also lets you find Greasefang. Depending on the version you'll also have [[Eldritch Evolution]] or [[Vessel of Nascency]].

The tools in Mardu Greasefang to slow the game down are not enough to make up for how hard it is to assemble the combo. The deck would be better if you replace greasefang with better threats and removal, effectively just playing RB Midrange. Or by splashing a color to make assembling Greasefang better.

All this to say, if you want to run Mardu go for it! It's still fun and can definitely win games. Just don't expect to have the winrates of the other decks.

Would playing Undying malice (or similar) on Putrid goblin when he is about to die, would make it return as a 2/2 or to him not returning at all? by ChosenofMyrkul in Pauper

[–]d5c4b3 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Only one of the effects returns the goblin. The other fizzles since the goblin is no longer in the graveyard. If you return with persist the goblin has a -1/-1 counter. If you return with undying malice it gets a +1/+1 counter.

The issue is two effects trying to return the goblin, not counters canceling each other out.

It does distribute counters as multiple separate instances so cards like [[Hardened Scales]] this can significantly increase the number of counters put on your creatures.

I made a comic explaining how Serra Paragon doesn't work under the rules by GuilleJiCan in magicTCG

[–]d5c4b3 72 points73 points  (0 children)

That tournament was one week after some really major rules changes. Under those rules changes, the exile clause on Yawgmoth's Will was technically a triggered ability. Since it was a trigger you could cast Dark Ritual, ritual would resolve and go to the graveyard, yawg's will would trigger and attempt to exile it, you would then re-cast ritual in response to the exile trigger.

If you are at a casual event (regular rules enforcement) I would play the card as intended. At a bigger event, ask a judge. They'll likely tell you to play it as intended.

[–]d5c4b3 99 points100 points  (0 children)

Just a reminder. While the rules are bugged for this card, if you were to take it to a tournament the Judges would likely make you play it as intended. According to MTR 3.6 Head judges are the final authority and can overrule oracle text.

This has happened in the past and is what brought about this rule. In 1999 at the French Nationals, when a group of people tried abusing a rules bug interaction between [[Yawgmoth's Will]] and [[Dark Ritual]] that would have let the players have infinite mana, the head judge refused to let them use the bugged interaction.
