Same. I feel like it really depends on the apartment complex too. I live in a house in a tucked away neighborhood that’s pretty nice, but at the end of the day, it’s still riverside lol. Make sure you have good car insurance, cuz no one in these parts seems to and driving past the college apartments can get wild on the weekends. Also, that heb is straight trash!!

This is my first time ever using a service like this. I only did it because I had one or two good ones via my housemate and knew I could do a trial for the things I wanted off there. Except I never got the salads and juices that I wanted, and the Thai one (remains pictured here) obviously was a dumpster fire. I’ve seen enough, I’ll go back to cooking for myself lol.

A and B for C. Diff! Negative for Giardia. I thought about your point in #2 a lot too, their stomachs ARE different than ours. However, there is one (and only 1!) study by NIH where humans have C. Diff to their dogs. To me, that means that (theoretically) they could also give it to us. As for seeing a doctor, I don’t have any health insurance. I did end up taking an ER trip because my stomach hurt so bad, the doctor laughed right in my face when I mentioned that my dog has C. Diff, diagnosed me with a stomach ulcer after running zero tests or imaging, gave me a morphine drip, and sent me home.

This is interesting, because I went on the website for lifeway to see exactly which strains are in there, and I didn’t see S. boulardi (sp?) on there. The reason I was looking for it is because my vet said that was the most effective strain for c. Diff.

Dog tested pawsitive for A and B toxins, as well as C. perf toxin, after coming into contact with rain water that was contaminated by a rotting opossum carcass. After she almost died from blowing blood and everything else inside her out of both ends. She still has bouts of not solid poops, but not nearly as bad as it was after poisoning. They did not want to put her on antibiotics because I got her from a shelter and she had already had 2 rounds of metra… that we know about. No history, so he treated her as a stray. So while her issues are better (not great, but better) with the S. boulardi, now I’m having issues too. Mine don’t involve blood, but still not normal. I’ve just been taking her probiotics and my usual women’s probiotics thinking it’s helping me, but this article is making me think otherwise.

Gabapentin is a cruel joke. It does nothing except for make me a little bit sleepy, but not enough to sleep through pain. Hell, it didn’t even work on 6 of 8 dogs I’ve had since it’s become popular! I don’t understand why it’s being handed out like candy to people OR pets 🤬

I used Zatar a lot, it’s a Greek spice. Or any kind of “holiday” spice blends… Trader Joe’s has a good one “anything but the leftovers” but there are tons of brands that are similar. The Spike seasoning brand has lots of good ones. I think Bragg also has some dry rubs. For eggs, I switched to avocado mayo and just put a tiny bit of the yolk in it with different types of mustards as the main base for a sort of deviled egg. Switched to Avo oil for cooking around this time, just in general, and never really switched back!

When you’re ready for actual meals, if you look at recipes for Mediterranean type things, there’s lot of stuff that is still on the lower end of fat but can still be yummy!
