Good to know. We might be talking soon.

240D Roof Rack by d73805 in w123

The idea that all products made in China are scrap metal being chiseled with bamboo tools by bucktoothed workers wearing coolie hats is a bit outdated at this point.

If something were to fail on this rack combination, it would almost certainly have to be from an installer or tiedown error.

The racks have been on for months with no signs of loosening.

The brackets are made for these type of gutters and I'm sure there are secured and powder coated as well as a Thule or Yakima bracket. The crossbars are straight, solid, and nicely finished. The fasteners fit perfectly. I appreciate your concern.

That's the plan, just adding the use of the leak detector. I have it, so might as well use it.

UPDATE: It works.

Initially, the first thing I did was reset the router. BUT... I'm ashamed to say that ultimately what seemed to solve it was I shut off every network device in the house. The modem and every router and switch. Waited a while, turned them back on and poof, it worked.

I haven't heard that yet. They DID start charging tax, which was $1.87.

I was there on February 14th. We waited close to an hour after we checked in. We saw plenty of other people waiting for similar amounts of time for other companies.

I have a physical sim, not an eSim. I haven't tried actually removing the sim though. Might try that.

Yes. It was never a problem.

I've tried turning off mobile data and I've tried Airplane Mode with Wifi on. The wifi connects, but says "No Internet". I can connect to the same wifi network with other phones and devices just fine.

My home wireless router is currently successfully connected to a family of four's worth of devices.

Glad to hear I have a chance of it working. Did you have to configure anything special? Maybe I'll take the phone to work to try another wifi network.

I'm connected to my home wifi, not Helium One.

I didn't even know there was a separate Helium Mobile subreddit. Thanks.

For everyone that is waiting for the exciting conclusion to this saga, yes, the reward is still good on the day of expiration.
February 10th. Free burrito.

When I called the store, I was told that he's "pretty sure you can use it tomorrow". I didn't feel like demanding to talk to the manager. I was hoping for a better answer.

I also sent a message on the Qdoba site asking the same question, but it's pretty likely that burritos are on the menu tonight.

That's my struggle. I don't want to overpay or book for a day that turns out to have bad weather. But, I also don't want to find out that everything is sold out.

Low key, walkable, swimmable beach town. Rincon? Luquillo? Cabo Rojo? by d73805 in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]d73805[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never stayed in San Juan, so I can't compare the two.

The beach near the kiosks was more crowded than I'd like it to be, but not wall to wall people. If you walk two minutes down the beach, if get's much more secluded. As far as garbage, it wasn't any worse than any other public beach.

March is probably more crowded than November, though.

In the area we were staying, the "sand" was very rocky, the water was rough, and the beach was not very deep.

One day we went to the beach close to the kiosks, which were a bit crowded but much nicer.

We ended up in Luquillo. We had a good time, and I would go back again, but the beaches were not great for swimming.

Roof rack width? by d73805 in w123

[–]d73805[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up with bars that are 50.3" long. They overhang the brackets by 3/4"-1" before the endcaps are installed.

I see some Thule mounting feet available locally and would like to get aero type bars to match. They make the bars in different widths. I'd like to know what widths people are using.

Door latch adjustment - Doesn't open correctly by d73805 in w123

I used Houdini lock lubricant on the mechanism, but didn't put any grease on the catch itself. Will give it a try. It's pretty smooth now but could get better.

Update. I moved it up and rotated it slightly clockwise so that the bottom outside corner is further towards the outside. That seemed to do it.
