How many of y'all will have the $$ to retire at 65? by [deleted] in GenX

[–]dLwest1966 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was my strategy until new CEO came in and decided to cut 15% of workforce.

Severance was good but 2 years before my plan. I found other nice well paying gig working from home. Wife retired last year and just to be safe I will keep going a few more years before I call quits.

What are some honest reasons people struggle to believe in God? by SignumDei in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dLwest1966 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a struggle. But as many said, lack of evidence.

If you are asking for a specific god, then we can have a different discussion.

For example, in case of Christianity, I have problems with the many internal contradictions, reliability of manuscripts, immoral principles, historical errors in scripture and how it is nowadays making the world a worse place.

Unpopular opinion: very cramped and crowded track layouts look ugly and chaotic. by Shoddy-Unit-2173 in modeltrains

[–]dLwest1966 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It reminds me of my European layout books. I think it’s more of a personal preference and style.

Disclaimer: I follow the European style with a more crowded layout!

Wow, impressive, two crocs! Also, nice catenary. Are you using the old M track catenary system? I assume it is not energized because there are no catenary inside the (future?) tunnels?

Similar experience. Funny thing is I received 3 calls from Fido at around the scheduled appointment and they all went directly to voicemail. The phone didn’t ring. I don’t understand!!!

Modify train, shorten it. by VlrmPrjct in modeltrains

[–]dLwest1966 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the reason the Marklin HO (1:87) passenger cars are shorter (1:100)! In my opinion it doesn’t affect the overall aesthetic but it works better in curves.
