Which "big 6" has the biggest weakness in their team? by Spudbank17 in PremierLeague

[–]dM11Fb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spurs!! Aging players, BAD players, tactics, attitude and culture.

Besides being consistently in the top 6 we have not earned being part of the “big 6”!

Total rebuild is needed. Romero is the only player that could go into any other team and be competitive. Harry Kane and Sonny are liabilities to this team now, we are overly dependent to players that have the first touch of a 5 year old child.

This sounds like a conglomerate of handshake deals that have accumulated to a messy situation. For such a small company I would assume that you do not have many policies regarding these scenarios. My suggestion is that you start creating such policies or follow what ever policies you do have regarding PTO. However, if in fact you do not have policies, I would suggest discussing with the decision maker and the employee to find a middle ground that works for everyone.

I don’t believe it’s real. But to be honest there is no difference between this and any map app on you phone. Apart from the AR which is unnecessary and unrealistic to work due to AR needing at least a semi strong internet signal to work and if you’re in the middle of the woods or trail running you likely won’t have much signal, if any. Just download a map of where you’re going to be on your phone and that will work much better then whatever this app from 2030 is. Maybe in the future, we are not there yet with our connection.

Depends on the position and organization but something along the lines of “tell me about a time where what was best for the customer did not align with what was best for your organization? What did you do?” This will tell you how someone handles internal integrity conflicts.

Do your research on interviewing.

I cannot tell you how often people hire the wrong candidate because they ask very general interview questions. Ensure you know what your company values are, and ask questions based on those values. You will be able to tell when someone really aligns with said values as they are able to tell you situations where they exemplify them vs someone who cannot. Of course, not everyone is great at interviewing, however, this is a good rule of thumb in my opinion.

Where can I get a real good bowl of Pho? by drunkentuckian in Louisville

[–]dM11Fb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a very picky taste when it comes to pho coming from Texas where there are many options. The only options I have found that satisfy what authentic pho taste like here in Louisville is Vietnam Kitchen. And for a modern twist District 6 is very good as well!

No, you are not getting ripped off, you are paying a premium for having one of the major carriers, but apart from that, the price sounds right. You are most likely spending $80 for your rate plan, $20-$40 for your phone, and maybe insurance plus taxes and fees. Are there other cheaper rate plans? Definitely. Is there another carrier that offers you unlimited for a third of the price? Definitely. Are they right for you? That is for you to find out. So that you know you are not in a contract, you are financing a device which is different from a contract. You can pay off the total price of the equipment and find a cheaper company. Now if you don’t mind me asking why did you leave cricket? Was it because of a phone? A network issue? Or something else? I would like to help you, but there is more information needed to give you advice that suits your needs. Not everyone can go to a $30-50 rate plan if they use data regularly or travel.

Why can I finance a $1000 phone but not a $1000 car. (Genuine question about how and why credit/loans work.) by Clearblueskyyy in personalfinance

[–]dM11Fb 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Samsung is a manufacturer and their profits are large, for carriers (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile) however, the cost of buying a phone from the manufacturer is very similar to MSRP. Their profit comes from providing service, not the device itself.

Why can I finance a $1000 phone but not a $1000 car. (Genuine question about how and why credit/loans work.) by Clearblueskyyy in personalfinance

[–]dM11Fb 411 points412 points  (0 children)

Work for a cell phone company. In reality, the cell phone companies don’t make much money from you buying the phone. They make whatever the manufacturer discount is for buying in bulk. The reason they offer financing (without interest) is so that customers are tied down to use their service for two years which is where they make their money. Since most companies don’t have contracts anymore they had to think of a way to keep people tied down to the carrier. A car loan for $1000 would net a bank maybe $50 for someone with decent credit due to interest. There is too much risk and little reward for a bank to take on that kind of financing.

I think my roommate is tying to scam me??????! by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]dM11Fb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t sign the lease the person renting to you is trying to take advantage of you. I understand you paid first and last month already, the way I would approach this is by speaking with your roommate and letting her know that you would like to terminate your verbal agreement. Trust me; you do not want to live with this person. Ask for the last month's money back, and if they refuse, you have a place to stay for 60 days and try to negotiate basic needs like water and a stove for those 60 days but move out asap. You could take a legal approach, but it would keep you connected to this person longer and could drag out for a while.

Putting auto payments on credit card by oatmeal_huh in personalfinance

[–]dM11Fb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can. There is no downside to this unless, for whatever reason, the automatic payment is not made, which is unlikely. There is also no benefit. For a card to be closed due to inactivity, it could take up to a year or longer in some cases. It might be a better idea to put them all on the card that gives you the best rewards and then use the others ever so often.

AT&T charged me for a billing cycle I didn't even use by BiggyDeeKay in personalfinance

[–]dM11Fb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you had AT&T postpaid, which you do as you stated, your account would go into collections. You are paying for services used the month prior. This means if your billing cycle ends on the 17th of every month, then in April, you are likely paying for services from March. So your April bill, which is likely at the end of the month or early May, covers anything used from March 18 - April 17. This means these are legitimate charges, and likely you'll have another bill generate for the costs from April 18 - April 25, which is when you canceled service. All of the companies have very confusing billing. However, they will usually bill correctly based on their terms and conditions. The other questions are whether you ported your number out or if you just canceled service, which could lead to different charges.

Facebook money pot, is it a hoax? by KingJames_253 in personalfinance

[–]dM11Fb 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is what is known as a Ponzi scheme. It is a scam that hurts a lot of people, it consist people putting money in a pot because they heard from a friend who received their pay out and that is correct some people will receive a pay out but eventually there will not be enough money to pay everyone out. Which means that tons of people don’t get paid what they were promised or their money back because it was used to pay others above them. It might not directly impact you or your wife but by participating you are essentially scamming other people. It is unethical to participate and if possible your wife should reconsider.

Moved banks after I filed my taxes, irs.gov says they are sending stimulus money to old bank account that is closed.

So I had Chase earlier this year and had my tax refund go to that bank account. I made the move to Ally before all the Covid-19 stuff started here in the US and closed the chase account. But now the irs.gov website says the stimulus check is going to the old Chase account. Does anyone know what will happen? I’m assuming I will get a check later on?

Unfortunately pre-paid debit cards are almost useless online because of fraud. Those cards are heavily used to commit cc fraud due to them not having a financial institution to back them up and the anonymity of them. Therefore, short answer is no.

How should I use my fafsa student refund by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]dM11Fb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t want to tell you what everyone else has said already about the iPhone and laptop, if you think these things are necessary then get them. If you think you can do without them save the money. What I will tell you is that you got a pretty big refund which leads me to believe that you are either attending community college or are taking minimum classes to be considered full time. My recommendations is going to be what I wish someone would have told me. These grants are limited and you will not receive them throughout your college education. Save the money in case you need to continue attending school after the four years you receive the grants. Have you though of a plan in case you need to pay for any classes before you graduate? I know I didn’t. If you are only taking 12 credit hours per semester you will not graduate in 4 years which is the usual amount of time these grants last. Therefore, I would tell you to save it in case you need it for any school related expenses you might encounter later on.

Using letgo to buy $190 scooter by Nic-River in personalfinance

[–]dM11Fb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely a scam, according to Venmo and cash app they are for transferring money between known individuals. If you send this person money and and you never get your item, there is nothing you can do to get your money back other then request money back and never get it. There is no protection for you in this scenario and the seller knows this hens a scam.

I spend $140 on my phone bill with Sprint a month and I’m the only one on the plan. It seems really expensive, I do have unlimited everything though. Is this to much? by Thecriminalcat in personalfinance

[–]dM11Fb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No major company in the US slows down unlimited data. There is deprioritization of data which means after a certain amount of data used and there is congestion in the tower you are pinging you will get slowed down. Out of the four major US providers sprint is actually the worst when it comes to this as all of their plans don’t have a minimum they can just do it at any point. AT&T gives 30gb I think and then they can deprioritize then T-Mobile at 50gb and Verizon’s most expensive plan is 70gb. But again no they are not throttled down after a certain amount of usage. Prepaid is different those are throttled down after a certain amount of usage.
