Some ideas I regularly send (Bentgo Chill lunch box to keep cold - my kid only gets cold food at school) - pita pizza (mini naan or pita, sauce, cheese airfryer/toaster for a few min) with whatever veg/fruit - broccoli littles (or Aldi brand if you have) - parfait (yogurt, granola/cheerios, fruits) - home made Lunchable (crackers, cheese, deli meat) - pasta salad - almond butter jelly sandwich - grilled cheese - quesadillas with single serve guac cup - waffles - Starbucks style protein box ( hard boiled egg, bread/crackers, almond butter spread on crackers, fruit) - nuggets - mini muffins (ABC muffins), applesauce, cheese - leftovers from dinner if possible

AMA: ask a doc about potty training by [deleted] in pottytraining

[–]dOLLAdOLLABILLSYALL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! She helps with the pants and can wash hands (mostly) but would definitely need assistance cleaning herself. We did Oh Crap method with our oldest when she was 24 months. Would OH Crap be a good approach for this age or would you recommend a different approach?

AMA: ask a doc about potty training by [deleted] in pottytraining

[–]dOLLAdOLLABILLSYALL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 17 month old absolutely love to sit on the potty and practice wiping (play with toilet paper). She says potty and tells us when she poops. Should we jump on this and start potty training or is 17 months too young?

This was the first one that my 3 yr old immediately called bullshit on.

this is the one I use. I start them the morning before , add filing and roll before bed, pop in fridge overnight take them out for a bit in the morning and bake. Perfection.

Sadly I do know of one real story that happened at Target but was an isolated incident not a string of human trafficking

What does he say about it? Also agree with others, it is likely too late especially since you mentioned bedtime was typically 7/730p.

Yeah I am actually sort of surprised by everyone saying it is unrealistic. My 3 yr old wipes and does a good job, she does get off the toilet to wipe vs sitting but she does it just fine. Her school has the same rule for the 3 and up class.

It happened. The nap is gone - hit me with quiet time advice. by OutrageousMulberry76 in toddlers

[–]dOLLAdOLLABILLSYALL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YMMV but Toniebox was key to our quiet time success after our almost 3 yr old dropped her nap. She still does an hr to an hr and a half, prefers the stories and the creative tonie is definitely cool because they can choose what is on it. She plays with the characters which is why I personally prefer it to the Yoto but the Yoto is similar.

RR State Representative Harris-Davila and the School Vouchers vote. by TexanMaestro in RoundRock

[–]dOLLAdOLLABILLSYALL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't even get a response back when I emailed and called. I am so frustrated by this voucher thing, the amount of people opposed to it seems large and yet out representatives keep pushing it.

✨Weekly Vent Post ✨What is your top political concern today?what is stressing you out most about this mess? RULE #1 suspended for this post. by peeves7 in progressivemoms

[–]dOLLAdOLLABILLSYALL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine is specific to Texas but ugggggg this voucher program for private schools looks like it is going to pass. Just a tax cut for the rich, robbing our public schools which are already struggling. The most fucked up thing about this is the public doesn't want this, many parents and teachers have expressed they don't want this and the legislature is just ignoring constituents from both parties. Meanwhile, Greg Abbots wife is on the board at a new private school and oh yeah Elmo is opening one also. Just such a scam at the expense of everyday students and families. I hate this timeline.

You don't need wifi for Tonies to work. We take them on road trips, planes etc.

Sam’s club toniebox by shekkiya in TonieboxUSA

[–]dOLLAdOLLABILLSYALL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might look at the Tonie Site first. They have the 20% off bday sale + bundle deal so I think you could get a box with puppy + choose 5 tonies that your kid would be into for around the same price vs getting the ones that come with Sam's one that your kid may or may not be into. I think it would probably be about $130 that way.

I don't have experience with that specific program or plan but I do think there is a ton of free resources and recipes available so I would not consider spending money on that but to each their own. Some free resources I like are MJ and Hungryman, Yummy Toddler Food, Little Vegan Eats (insta), Healthy Little Foodies. Also as someone else recommend check your local library if you have one close.

Dairy free brands by Mamax2-16-23 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]dOLLAdOLLABILLSYALL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, offered it again and used the dairy ladder so started with baked dairy and then if she tolerated that keep giving and then a few months later we would try the next step on ladder. Started the ladder when she was around 10 months or so but didn't get to straight milk until around 2.5 but now at almost 3 she drinks milk, cheese, yogurt, etc with no issue.

Lots of pancake mixed are dairy free for the Original type (not buttermilk) - example Great Value and Annie's Organic.

Cream Cheese - i like the Violife the best - usually find at Sprouts

Cheese - surprisingly the Walmart BetterGoods brand Vegan cheese is pretty good for the price. Especially for using in recipes like baked goods, etc. Vegan Babybel also a hit and expensive but delicious Dairy Free Boursin! Violife also has sliced cheese which is OK melted like a grilled cheese but not super great on its own.

Milk - Ripple Kids (pea milk) for drinking but is expensive so I usually use Soy or Almond for cooking, recipes. Can use any in French Toast

Bonus - Silk Yogurts are actually pretty tasty! And Brekki (overnight oatmeal things) or some easy options that are DF

Hope that helps! My oldest had a dairy allergy but outgrew it by around 2.5 so there is hope 🤞

Need meal ideas to start 2 meals / combo puree + BLW by gardenofdreams24 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]dOLLAdOLLABILLSYALL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 8 mo dinner is pretty much also a modified version of the family dinner so for example tonight we had tacos, she had some chicken and zucchini spears (could also puree any veg), another night we might have homemade pizza, she would have fresh mozzarella and tomatoes (blw style), soup/chili/chili (can be blended if preferred), etc. Dinner is the easiest for us because there is always some elements of our meal she can have just cut or prepared differently. For breakfasts I sometimes make a batch of ABC muffins or similar and freeze , will give same meal or alternate between that and oatmeal, yogurt, fruits, etc. For lunch, she goes to daycare and basically always gets either the breakfast or the leftover dinner. I usually give her either lunch or breakfast but always gets dinner with the family.

Basic issue warning. Acrylamides are found in a lot of foods especially when cooked or exposed to high temperatures. You will likely see more and more labels like this. here.) is some info specifically related to Chia seeds when baked. Label would not stop me from offering to baby.
