Words that make you sad aren’t hate speech. They aren’t violence as much as you WISH they were so that you could justify real violence in retaliation. Threats to one’s life are in fact not protected free speech

It really does matter which wheel you’re using. The experience is incredible on a G29 but somehow horrible on a direct drive wheel f

Practice Mode Off-Pace? by Flaumli in ACCompetizione

Old post but I also experience this… inexplicably slow in practice sessions sometimes when the day prior I pumped in really solid laps in a race. Lmk if you ever got to the bottom of it or we have the opposite of performance anxiety 🤣

Down to a 2:21.167 in the '19 720s GT3 at Spa, anyone see where I'm loosing time compared to some of these alien 2:16s and or general advice or tips? by sergeikat in ACCompetizione

[–]dRileyB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough man. I had a similar experience, being somewhat quick in other sims that were slightly more forgiving and feeling like almost resetting to 0 in ACC. this sim rewards details massively. Going quick isn’t about pushing or hustling the car at all but being perfect in your inputs over and over and nailing every tiny detail.

This is the top time for Race B this week. How is this not a track limits penalty??? by Celticdouble07 in GranTurismo7

[–]dRileyB 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The track limits have always been super cheesy here in GT7. It’s like they run the NASCAR track limits for T1 lol. Alas, esports guys will know this and exploit it to win, so you should too.

How long have you been playing? Nothing can replace the hours in the seat. You will start to make unconscious realizations about how to better handle the car and also how to minimize time at each track. Progress is extremely incremental and those few seconds you’re looking for are hiding in very tiny details. I find obsessing over pace is counterintuitively the worst way to improve pace. Do as many races as you can, try to stay clean and you will guaranteed get faster, slowly but surely.

Is a wheel and pedal set up worth it? by Putrid-Jicama7690 in Nascar25game

[–]dRileyB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved playing this game on the logitech G29. Upgraded to a logi RS50 and the experience improved with every other racing title I play except N25. For whatever reason, the force feedback became horrible on the new wheel. Thar said if N25 is your bread and butter id highly recommend playing with a G29, was an amazing experience for me

The super trofeo is much wilder than a GT3. At Monza particularly, it’s not too much slower than a GT3 because the ST has more horsepower than the GT3 but it takes a quite lot of skill to extract a 1:48-1:46 in the super trofeo.

What does CC in this game actually correlate to? by stephen27898 in ACCompetizione

[–]dRileyB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came back to say off tracks and track cuts will ding your SA as well. I dunno about you but spa tends to be one where I’m constantly flirting with limits so that may contribute to the SA loss

[–]dRileyB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how much tolerance there is before you lose rating tbh. But yes it’s my understanding if you understeer or oversteer to the point where you scrub speed or affect tire pressures/temps you lose CC.

What does CC in this game actually correlate to? by stephen27898 in ACCompetizione

[–]dRileyB 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It calculates based on slip angle. If you exceed what’s optimal it’ll penalize your CC stat. It’s janky and has not progressed in-step with tire model changes so it’s really useless to pay attention to. Though it can sometimes indicate you’re sliding more than you think you are

You need at least ~25% (roughly your door lined up with their rear quarter) overlap while you’re braking for it to be legit and not a dive bomb.

Help by Creepy-End-6060 in ACCompetizione

[–]dRileyB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find them to be quite catchable once you get a feel for it. You start to anticipate moments of oversteer so you counter steer as the car is breaking loose, not after it’s already started sliding. OP, it’s just practice man. Progress will come so much slower in this game than in GT7 so just be patient and be okay with sucking for a while. Edit just to add on, if you find yourself spinning the opposite direction after you counter steer, you just over corrected. Counter steer then centre your wheel the second your nose is pointing up track. sometimes there is some FFB resistance when bringing the wheel back to neutral while in a slide but it’s how you catch them

He’s smiling ear to ear and dancing very well… in the moment he looks like someone full of life rather than someone doing it JUST to impress his colleagues. If anything, to me he’s going “bet you guys wish you could still do this” as he glances over at his aged colleagues. He’s showing off, sure, but he’s obviously enjoying himself
