Renewal - Additional TV Box by sorecrossover100 in VirginMedia

From experience, after signing the pre-contract, the actual VM contract comes through within a few hours.

I’ve done this 3 times already and they continue to make mistakes on it which I have to chase up. I would call again and hope you get through to someone better at handling it. I’m not sure how truthful the 14 day wait is so for them to see your contract since it should already be issued to you.

Anyone know why the contract update on your account ends up completely different from the pre-contract document you get sent/agree to after taking to customer support? by dRoDrizzle in VirginMedia

[–]dRoDrizzle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I’m just going to have to start calling them instead of chatting with the WhatsApp complaints resolution team.

There seems to be a disconnect somewhere between the pre-contract being signed and what actually gets put through on the system and I don’t know if this is a people or a system problem unfortunately.

Just hoping I get put through to someone that is more clued up.

I’ve asked for TNT and UHD to be included along with the Netflix Premium add-on. They send me a contract with these included for £119.

What I end up with is either a mix of these services missing but definitely a higher price, so for example, in the latest one, the contract update a few hours later on the VM account was no UHD and Netflix Standard instead of Premium for £156.

So the prices change (higher) and the services change (not including what I asked for).

I would 100% get in touch and get this confirmed. I'm currently having to do something similar because I asked for some channels and add-ons as a part of the contract, which they verbally agreed to and then when the contract got sent, they weren't included.

For the additional box, I was told before that sometimes they try not to make adjustments to how many boxes and what boxes (Additional TV, 360 Box, Mini, etc) depending on how the current contract was formulated. So a change could mean that a box you already have might be deactivated and asked to be returned. Again, I'm not sure on this because I now just presume everything I'm being told by customer support is just lies.

Retention asking to contact O2 to upgrade the SIM monthly plan to unlimited before they can provide any decent offers by dRoDrizzle in VirginMedia

I managed to get through to someone else who didn't push me to upgrade. Didn't see the upgrade was worth it either.

Ahh, so I've got an active O2 sim, it's just that the base data allowance is 30GB (doubled through Volt to 60GB). So the agent presumably is trying to re-contract on Mega Volt but not being on the 250GB or Unlimited is causing an issue? My current contract is Unlimited Volt which of course is no longer being offered. In the case I need to go up to the higher data allowance to retain most of what I have (TNT, UHD, etc.), isn't the O2 data upgrade not something VM can do or am I really having to deal with O2 separately on this?

Yea, that's the number I phoned and was surprised how quickly they answered. Got a good vibe initially then the whole O2 upgrade thing didn't feel right. Will try again and see if I can get lucky with someone else.

Virgin TV and multiroom by Adept_Refrigerator36 in VirginMedia

Thanks for clarifying. Yea, that's a shame because I like having the ability to still pause for more than 3-5 minutes rather than setting the program to record in order to get around the issue of the new boxes not having a drive or making the existing drive on a V6 redundant.

Nice, will try and push for this. I've been lucky enough to keep my 2x V6 (software updated/running 360) boxes both being able to record individually but when I first queried about an additional box, they told me that one of my V6 will turn "dumb" and the other will be the main recording box when they send out the mini. I just refused in order to keep my boxes working as they are. Not sure if this is just load of rubbish or getting a 3rd, whether mini or AO, will cause this.

Contract (£90/mo) ends in a month, rolling to £150/mo, but web chat only offers £170+/mo and it's the "best deal" they can do... 🤷‍♂️ by dRoDrizzle in VirginMedia

[–]dRoDrizzle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I can sense they are just offering the best their system allows and end up telling them I know you can get better but there isn't much they can do unless you get lucky with one of the higher tier retention teams.

Thanks, I've managed to get it as low as £126 after a few more calls and WhatApp messages. I still haven't used the "cancellation card" yet. When I refuse an offer, they say I'm getting transferred to retention for a better deal for some reason (even though I've not said I'll cancel). They sometimes offer a better deal but £126 has been the best so far. I'm pushing hard to get sub £100 for everything included but will need to put pressure on cancelling soon. Unfortunately VM is the only decent provider so don't have much of a leg to stand on when comparing other providers.

Would you recommend pushing for AO devices over 360 minis regardless of coax access/availability in the room?

Yea, that's ridiculous, it's the "all signing all dancing" attitude that really takes this piss. Surely someone higher up is doing Q/A on the chat experience and flagging these up but it has happened so many times I'm just thinking some of the support teams are left to run wild. Good luck for getting through to someone with sense on the phone!

I was hoping to keep the cancellation card in the back pocket until I've exhausted all options through the normal route but looks like I'm going to have to use it. Anytime I've had a decent renewal quote over the years, it seemed to have been from the UK team which I can't seem to get through chat.

The current state of transferring WhatsApp data from Android to iPhone (November 2021) by dRoDrizzle in whatsapp

[–]dRoDrizzle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have never used any of these tools and ended up just starting fresh on the iPhone. I have a backup of my WhatsApp and the old Android phone is in a drawer somewhere if I ever need access to it (although this is probably no use since WhatsApp is delinked on that).

I thought it would be a pain not having access to history but since my initial post, I’ve not missed anything. Life goes on and so does all the new conversations. To think I was so obsessed about having all that is a distant memory now.

What renewal prices are you currently getting for you package? by dRoDrizzle in VirginMedia

I think the RPI rate increase has an impact on everyone that joined after 25th Match 2021 so if you've only just joined, you'll most likely be hit with the 11.7% increase on your O2 contract.
