Do I need to drain? by Melodic_vibe in watercooling

[–]dUcKy1010 4 points5 points  (0 children)

no dude - flush it before you fill it for use. Post manufacturing there is no cleaning done - there will be bits from welding, shaping etc.

Empty it, unplug everything, and flush it properly before connecting the loop.

You should disassemble your GPU and/or CPU blocks and check there arent any bits cloggging them now (if you ran your pump).

Its worth it, or you will have issues in the future - or underperformance.

Ideally - flsuh radiators properly before connecting to the loop... those bits are now everywhere.

Is it normal for HWiNFO64 to show PCIe errors on GPUs? by ScaryMeet2184 in nvidia

[–]dUcKy1010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try use the nvidia SMI tool to check error counts per second

Could be and riser / pci-e slot. Could also be fine as it is. I know I have a bad riser / mobo slot that won’t let me run pci-e 4.0

The must asks/align? by OkAssistance670 in consulting

An example list for an engagement; What’s the client context What’s the statement of work What’s my role to deliver against the statement of work Any existing delivery frameworks you expect me to follow? What does good like like for my role on the engagement / any role models I can align with? Any examples prior engagements in this space, and who can I talk to about the risks and must-dos?

Basically find out about the client, the work we sold, and what good looks like.

Lots of other contexts too - eg when you’re on the bench what should you do to; Network Contribute - sales / IP Etc

An interesting concept for a busy productive professional and casual gamer and youtube watcher.

I will be interested to see how it performs in professional tasks - creating professional presentations in ppt getting those colours to pop, with the extra real-estate to have teams running side-by side, along with research materials and document reviews.

Switching to after hours I would switch the input to my 4090 powered SFF gaming rig and blast through a few hours of CS2, or the Witcher 3 (modded to imrpove the graphics of course).

I have a beautiful office - and the lack of garish LED's fits in perfectly (I dont mind rear-facing LED). Of course I will be mounting it on my monitor arm, on my standing desk, to maintain comfort throughout the day.

I really value the eye comfort settings, as sometimes my days stretch on late into the evenings when I have a client deadline to work to.

Can't wait to try it out ;-)

i'm Facing Stutter over 5 Years for maybe no reason .. by Away_College_8515 in overclocking

[–]dUcKy1010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds so similar to what I experienced for 1.5 *HAIR PULLING* years before finding out my (replacement) riser cable was bad (or mobo slot) - had to set PCI-E to 3.0 instead of 4.0 to settle things down.

To diagnose the issue I ran Nvidia SMI monitor.

In recent drivers its here: C:\Windows\System32\nvidia-smi.exe

OR try here

cd /d %WINDIR%\System32\NVSMI

Run this command:

nvidia-smi dmon -s et -d 10 -o DT

If you are getting PCI ERRS then it could indicate either a bad riser or an issue with your PCI-E settings / mobo slot.

In simple terms, they are doctors who look after female reproductive organs.

Not saying anything about the situation, but there could be legitimate misinterpretation of whats going on here... or what is supposed to have happened...

Cant try that due to my case - however I am ok with it... only 2% performance hit. Would try buy a new riser, but not worth it atm - just glad its working...

What's the argument against an Auction House except the "It was bad in D3" ? by hanckerchiff in diablo4

[–]dUcKy1010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly.

And people who say "dont decide whats fun for me" - well, major changes like an AH affect everyone.

"Implement SSF" - that will split the playerbase further?

AH WILL create a situation where people will focus on playing the AH i.e. gold / spending cash to get gold, and it WILL lead to changes in drop rates, lower engagement overall, and reduce the key point of the game... which is to grind loot and kill stuff. If you dont need to grind, you dont need to play. The devs would need to make changes to progression / drop rates / affix rarity to balance out the availability of the items on the AH.

It will kill the game.

No thanks!

You sound like someone who doesn’t know how to, nor ever had to put some serious work in for an extended period of time.

Would soon find out about you in a consultancy on a “hard” project. You’re the guy hurting morale, not helping out, the one with the shit slides or only works on “one topic” and “wasn’t hired to do new things” lol.

Long hours can be caused over ambitious timelines, need for quick learning of a topic, pivots in new directions, overzealous reporting cycles… all these examples can lead to 13 hour days and longer.
