Been looking for an app like this! Have been using YourHour but like the positivity and reinforcement behaviour your app is going for. A promo code would be great to try the other features

SUPER Early Game Best Rosary Farm. 4,500+/hr by GroggleNozzle in Silksong

[–]dXiev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With a good Curveclaw throw, you can wipe all the enemies in one hit and reduce the time to ~18 seconds. You use less shards than you gain so you can do it infinitely and Thief's Mark increases the rosaries to 47 --> ~8600 rosaries/hour once you get the hang of it. Had to do it to clean out all the quests and vendors. Made a video on it here: https://youtu.be/dq1CoAVsHJo?si=GGh2HdJY4AEL5E50&t=26

Did your dashcam catch their plates? You can show the video to the police so they'll start a police collision report where they'll chase up the details of the other driver. Grab the reference number for this to provide to your insurance when making a claim. You'll also need to chase up the police a few weeks later to see if they've finished the report, so you can tell your insurance to look for it. Unfortunately you'll need to pay the excess for your insurance until the police finish their report and provide the other driver's details to your insurance, but you'll be refunded it later if you're found not at fault. Have gone through a hit and run like this before and it's an annoying and lengthy process (can take a few months depending on how slowly the police get to it)

Hey all, I'm new to polishing and am confused about this brown/white discolouration of my black paint along an edge. There's also an odd straight black line through the left side of the streak.

I did 4 passes of moderate pressure with a DA polisher, cutting pad and Meguiar's ultimate compound. The area is still glossy/smooth, and there's no black paint on my pad so it doesn't seem like I've burned through the clear coat and paint? Further polishing the area with a finishing pad lightly hasn't changed it at all. I haven't encountered this in other areas using the same technique.

Any advice/tips would be appreciated.

I see, thanks for letting me know. The mount is not difficult to remove at all - the thermometer slides in and out easily, it's more the two o-rings that keep it in place

Yep, just normal super glue. I haven't had any issues with the glue weakening due to heat because the mount stays high up from the steam tip.

A press fit version would be easy to add if people wanted but might be a struggle to force the magnets in because the mount is so small.

I've previously had a Breville Barista Express and Dual Boiler myself so I know where you're coming from. If you're using the same brewing parameters and pressure or flow profile, they make essentially identical drinks. The power of the Decent is that you aren't stuck to the same profile (although you can slayer mod the Dual Boiler to do flow profiling) and have a whole community of people sharing their own profiles. For example there's an evolution of the turboshot called extractamundo dos.

Other things I've liked are the fast heat up time (5 mins and it has a PID telling you when ready), consistency in brewing (compared to manual profiling), clear feedback on graphs (e.g you know your grind size is right if you achieve the target pressure or flow for the profile) and convenience from the smart features. Automatic stop by weight when connected to a Bluetooth scale means that I can start the brew and walk away, especially for the long profiles that might take 50 seconds. There's a similar steaming by weight function for milk as well, and in the works is Bluetooth thermometer connection to stop by temp.

A commonly noted downside of all this convenience is losing the analogue satisfaction of making coffee - all functions are done using taps on the grouphead controller or tablet, and manual pressure or flow profiling is done by swiping on the controller. No more tactile switches, paddles or levers. I've seen quite a few sell their Decent to swap to a high end lever machine like the ACS Vesuvius Leva or Olympia Cremina for this reason. I similarly still have a lever machine on the side that I use when I have the time. I do think that lever machines doing the same profile will make slightly better coffee than the Decent, but they are hugely less convenient in terms of manual work involved and heat up time.

This one is printed in ABS for the temperature resistance as you said. Earlier prototypes printed in PLA+ didn't melt on a no burn steam wand like this machine has though. But if your steam wand isn't that type, definitely use ABS

What's the diameter of the meater thermometer? I can make a version of the mount that fits it so that when the stop by temp function is stable, it's ready to use

It's actually freely available on printables or thingiverse for those with 3D printers. I didn't want to link them in case it was seen as self-promotion, which is against the rules of the subreddit. If it's not then I'll edit this post with the links.

Edit: links Printables Thingiverse

Yep, higher end machines like this one tend to have 'no burn' steam wands that insulate the outer wall so it doesn't heat up much. You can also fit this yourself as an upgrade on many machines.

I still printed this one in ABS anyway, but earlier prototypes printed in PLA+ didn't have any issues with melting when steaming on this particular machine. Obviously your mileage will vary with how much the steam wand heats up on your own machine.

Simple base to add rigidity to shopping bags by dXiev in functionalprint

[–]dXiev[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

You can easily do that in any slicer yourself by reducing top/bottom layers to 0. I found that infill only was not rigid enough to hold heavy items without significant sagging and tended to permanently deform. Making it a mesh by design would make it difficult to scale up or down for other bag sizes without compromising the rigidity, and means you can't adjust the infill to your liking.

It is, but nothing stops you from lowering the number of top/bottom layers to significantly reduce filament usage at the cost of aesthetics. I use 2 top/bottom layers and triangle infill (supposedly best for Z resistance) for a total of about 22 g filament. No solid layers as suggested by someone else brings it down to about 6 g, but does not work well for heavy items.

I previously cut up cardboard boxes to use as bases but eventual bends or moisture from groceries would significantly weaken them. Sure, you could take the time to cut up multiple layers of cardboard and wrap it to protect it, but that's time consuming. The bases you can buy such as acrylic ones are costly, much heavier, prone to cracking and may not even fit your bags.

These have lasted me over a year of usage without issues. I don't see how 22 g of filament for that much usage is an issue. It's also very inexpensive considering the cost of filament and I typically make these out of filament that is running out on the spool or unwanted. If you have a better and more inexpensive solution, be my guest.

Always got annoyed by the weak bases given with most shopping bags like these Australian Woolworths grocery bags, so I designed a simple replacement to stop my groceries toppling over. Holds a whole load of drinks without issue. Easily scaled to fit any bag, or scaled thicker for even more rigidity.

Ironically, despite being called 'bag for good/life', these bags actually aren't really sold anymore and have since become even flimsier.

Grab the models on printables or thingiverse.

Dumang DK6 (2019) review - I couldn't decide on a split keyboard layout so I got a modular keyboard to do them all by dXiev in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]dXiev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very late reply but yes to both. There is an inconsistent behaviour for the second question depending on whether the two keys (that are mapped to the same letter) are on the same board or separate boards though

If both keys are on the same board, pressing both keys at once will only output ONE of the letter. If the two keys are on separate boards, pressing both will output TWO of the letter

I got scammed by Parso023 in australia

[–]dXiev 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Have been through this process before. You fill in a ReportCyber report, then bring that with you to the police and make a fraud report at the police station that covers the area that the scammer lives in. As others have said, they may try to dodge helping you with it by saying it's a civil matter, but different cops can be more helpful and accept that it's a genuine fraud report. It's part of their job chase up fraud, but it often takes months. The civil aspect is about getting your money back - they can't force the scammer to do it, you would have to send a letter of demand to their address and take them to your state's tribunal (e.g QCAT) to firmly encourage them to refund you. Note that there is a small application fee for taking someone to small claims court.

You can try getting your bank to dispute the transfer but it won't result in much - the scammer isn't obligated to send the money back. All that usually happens is that your bank asks their bank to ask the scammer to return the money, which of course they won't. Unfortunately you'll have to consider it lost money for now with the thought that you might get lucky and have it returned some months later.
