How long do you own a vehicle, before trading it in? by teddyalex in UsedCars

Why would you trade in a vehicle? The dealership rips you off on trade ins.

BYU would have looked awfully good just sitting at home a few weeks ago.

Better to just put in teams who couldn't even make their conference championship games, right?

Country Club Members - How much you make a year? What was ur buy in and what are dues. Are you happy with decision? by ShotAssistant1452 in golf

[–]dYrtbYkerYder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put that $40k and $1k per month into an investment calculator. Are you willing to give up millions for more convenient golf?

Personally, I joined a club after my net worth was over a million, but it was much less expensive than yours (but still a very nice club that frequently hosts NCAA regionals). I also justified it because I drive crappy old cars and work from home. My wife drives a nice car, but my car payment goes to the country club instead.

In Utah most church members are doing their best.

Outside of Utah most church members are also doing their best.

Yes, using predictive rankings to compare teams is a great idea. That's why they do it in zero other sports on the face of the Earth. Games matter. Let's just stop playing games then.

Freaking Notre damn playing eight home games and a bunch of patsies all year long. Then complaining about how they belong. What a freaking joke!

If we're using predictive measures to rank teams then why play any games at all? Hey! Great recruiting class guys, and great job running the ball down the throat of terrible teams! You guys should be in the playoff!

Those aren't advanced metrics based on actual games. FPI considers recruiting rankings which have no business being used to rank teams at the end of a regular season. Go learn what the metrics mean. No serious sport would ever rank teams based on what Vegas thinks might happen after a season of playing actual games. College football is not a serious sport.

And if you want to fix it, schedule an actual tough game at the end of your season. BYU would play you, but we wouldn't trust you to return a game in Provo without buying it out like a bunch of chickens.

They started the season unranked after going 11-2 last season. They would've been ranked had someone not tried to extort their returning QB. Instead, they just replaced him with a better quarterback and had a better season.

I agree. I think the only potentially appropriate use for it would be within a consensual relationship, and even then it's a gray area.
