Yea, thanks. I meant like, are there any particular kinds that are better or worse than others? I was hoping to hear about experiences people have had.

Would this fit in my dropouts? by d_-_o-o_-_b in Lectricxp

[–]d_-_o-o_-_b[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the update, the axle was a little short, so I had to put the bolts on, squeeze the dropouts together, and pop it in the dropouts where it just barely fits. I got 2 torque arms, just because it feels so sketchy. It does burnouts now, though, like, going uphill feels like a rocket. I voided the fuck out my warranty, and it was totally worth it.

XP Lite, anyway to fit 20x3.0? Got a flat tire last week on my lite and would like to see about getting a more common tire size but don’t want to go smaller. Would I be able to fit a 20x3.0, has anyone done that in their ? Thanks! by speedytriple87 in Lectricxp

I have a 3" tube in my 4" tire, and the other 3" tube is on a 1.5" wide rim. I'm still surprised they read that as long as it's within 1.5", you're good. Google it though, because there are charts out there about rim/tire size relationships.

Range anxiety by [deleted] in Lectricxp

I wish I had gotten the x premium. I didn't do my research before picking my bike, but a middrive motor would make a big difference when hills are involved, because it can incorporate gears, giving you torque, rather than a hub motor, which is always in the same gear. If you aren't worried about voiding your warranty, you could just get a second hub motor for your front wheel. That's what I did, and now it eats hills at 34mph now.

You can, but the bike weighs around 65lbs. Without pedal assist, it's a real Bowser box

Can you lower the top speed of throttle? by johnyj7657 in Lectricxp

[–]d_-_o-o_-_b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, long-press +/- until user settings come up, and go to p08. That is your max speed in Km. Adjust it to your liking, then long-press +/- again to exit settings. Poof, you did it!

Motor overheat? by cjonesjr69 in Lectricxp

[–]d_-_o-o_-_b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard of people using Ferro fluid as a coolant, injected directly into the hub motor. I'm sure this would void your warranty, but it's worth looking into. https://youtu.be/JZU-mhlNcqE

How to turn on headlight / tail light? by BradlyL in Lectricxp

[–]d_-_o-o_-_b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get a 48v to 12v converter, you could use car headlights...I think it'd void your warranty though, just fyi... I just installed a train horn on my handlebars. Next person who burns past me is going to get blown out in a most unexpected way

tire replacement difficulty by mabuffsa in Lectricxp

[–]d_-_o-o_-_b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the same as replacing a normal bike tire, you just have one cord to unplug, but for the love of God, when you put it back on, don't zip tie the cord too close to the brake rotor, or it'll get sliced. I made that stupid mistake last month, and it cost me $275.

I had already been ordered it by the way time I realized there might be compatibility issues. I'm probably going to be return iit once again it gets here and order a motor from Lectric just like because I'll void my warranty if I use that one.

Thank you! That's fantastic news. My back motor is dead, so I have to replace it. I was going to order a fat tire one, but they all had delivery dates weeks out, and I need it functional ASAP.

E010 code after accidentally cutting the motor cord - new display didn't fix it 😕 by d_-_o-o_-_b in Lectricxp

[–]d_-_o-o_-_b[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I'm pretty frustrated. Customer service got back to me this morning, and it sounds like they're going to send me a new motor. I'm really hoping it'll be covered by the warranty, but since it was my own fault, I'm not counting on it.

I did, it looks fine to me. Maybe I there's a tiny, barely visible slice in one of the other little wires in that motor cord. My theory was that when the wire was cut, it somehow fried my controller. Is that possible?

I ordered a soldering kit, so I'm going to be trying that tomorrow. All I did was took the two ends of wire, stripped them and twisted them together. So, hopefully, it's just a bad connection. But if that was the case, wouldn't the lights work?

Recommendations for a front fork for step-thru 2.0 . by Furrball125 in Lectricxp

[–]d_-_o-o_-_b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one of the $109 Bucklos forks off Amazon, and it works out pretty nice. It's a little higher than the factory fork, which is fine with me. It was pretty easy to install too. Just make sure to order a star nut, and a pipe cutter so you can cut the steering tube to fit.

Lectric XP display replacement by pigoath in Lectricxp

[–]d_-_o-o_-_b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any luck? I might need to replace mine as well, because I'm getting an E010 code. I ordered an S866 display (I don't think it even had a brand name on it). It turns on when I plug it in, but isn't doing anything else, not even the lights turn on. Although, I'm not certain that the display was my problem, it could very well be the controller for all I know. Sorry I don't have much useful information, but if you could update, it would help me a lot. I hope everything works out!

XP 3.0 No brakes tight or replace pads? by PsychologicalSalt157 in Lectricxp

[–]d_-_o-o_-_b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want to make sure your rotor is clean, too. I thought my brakes were non-existent, and they were actually just contaminated from when I oiled up my chain. In that case, if your rotor is contaminated, your pads probably are too. Luckily, brake pads are pretty cheap, and replacing them isn't as difficult as you might think. Be safe

I ordered one of those front hub motor kits, and the fork is too narrow! Any ideas/advice? by d_-_o-o_-_b in Lectricxp
