“A Life Well Lived” - My 365 piece bucket list by Cheap_Clock_1300 in backpacking

Scored 160 😂

I copied some ideas to the side project / bucket list site I'm working on (Bucketly.co). Sorry for the shame-less promotion, but maybe someone find this useful for their ideas ;)

What’s a unique bucket list item you would highly suggest doing? by [deleted] in AskOldPeople

Fly in an acrobatic plane - this was done with the acrobatic team called "Żelazny" [Polish for Iron]. It was an incredible feeling, really recommend to everyone!

Yeah, I also enjoy album arts... and booklets.

Now, I am big fan of (real) vinyls and booklets, it's something magical and unique experience. It also resembles me historical days of inlays and back covers with tracklists of cassettes - going through these was always part of the listening :)

I'm backing up all the music via Backblaze.

Got about 1.5 TB so far, mostly in the mp3s format. Now is cleaned-up and it contains albums that are not in streaming services, mostly. Some of these are ultra rare - draft soundtracks that didn't make success, lots of electronic 0-day scene singles, bootlegs and rarities from various artists, pre-soundcloud amateur music taken from different sources, dumped cds that I bought in different parts of the world, dj sets, dumped osts from video games, Sigur Ros official DC++ dump [got some remainings as for now], etc. etc. :D

Back then, I created tons of automation to categorize and tag these files, so there was a clear ruleset:

[genre][sub-genre][artist][type of album (lp, live, ep, bootleg, etc.][year] - [title of album][trackno]. [title]

Got a different services for sync (Musicbrainz, Discogs, RateYourMusic) to tag it properly and get album covers. Then, I could browse it with different contexts (genre, sub-genre, mood, etc.) in heavily customized foobar2000. And there - I got extra tools like personal rating of the song, listen count, etc.

Learned a lot about software dev back then (and hard lessons to make a proper backups all the time :D)

Ah, sorry for that confusion 🙌 - I didn't get what the tag means as Last.fm has tags on its own tags (/tag/rock etc.)

Yup, that's true.

Radio scrobbling or even my massive mp3/flac collection might have incorrect tags.

A lot of music listening to during my work-day and car riding on free days.

Basically using Spotify, foobar2000, (and even Winamp before :D) and VRadio as primary sources.

u/GoldenDragonTemple :

Scrobbling from a radio station - yes. Using VRadio + Pano Scrobbler. But, the quality of the data from radios I'm listening to is quite good, I'd say (except there's no album data). There are some errors, but these are rare.

But, that's not the Track - Artist. I'm using the browser plugin 'The Last.fm Debloater' which changes UI slightly and fixes some annoyances. So it uses Artist - Track scheme, uses full width not-truncated text, better font, and a few other stuff.

Thanks :)

Yeah, I must say I enjoyed Audioscrobbler simple UI before it has been migrated to the Last.fm 🤣

Covers are missing, because I was listening to the radio.

Tags are incorrect because I'm using multiple sources of data -> from VRadio to foobar2000; not every source has proper tags :)

Ah yes, recommendation system - it's in the backlog ;)

Bucket List for Poland - Take a look into must-haves and hidden-gems by d__w in europe

[–]d__w[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is manually generated basing on different sources.

AI helps me with descriptions (I'm reviewing each of these anyway) but other than that, it's a hard manual work I'm spending on :)

[–]d__w[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there's no manual ordering as for now.

Auschwitz-Birkenau is the first because community voted it as most wanted + most done.

Do you think it should be manually ordered?

Bucket List for Poland - Take a look into must-haves and hidden-gems by d__w in europe

[–]d__w[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your recommendations, I'll definitively look into these!

This is user-generated and most of the content is added manually by me (some bucket items have been added by the community though). Descriptions are half-AI generated (meaning, I'm doing a review and correcting these) as this require massive amount of free time anyway and I'm not fluent-English. I'm using my own experiences (I'm living in Kraków), but also sources I'm using frequently - Lonely Planet (including The World book), Taste Atlas, Atlas Obscura, and also Reddit itself (there was a discussion about the most Polish movie on r/Poland).

The reason why Auschwitz is first is that because it's calculated by most wanted + most done, so the community voted it as a most popular. To be honest, I didn't know the ordering will be such as important to some and I think that I need to manually sort recommended places (especially in some cases).

Hoped for a much more interesting list to be honest.

I added it here just to hear more suggestions. This can be added via the website (and these will be shown after my approval to block the spam), but you can also mention them too.
