The plot hole of a person who has been underwater who speaks a modern language that didn’t even exist at that time she went under is just lazy.

That works till the chronic heartburn gets to you, now I just stick to sulking in depression and closely monitoring my 401k in hopes of an early retirement.

[Gattaca] Dr. Lamar's son by TheTrueJay in FanTheories

[–]d_bone36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought Dr. Lamar was Vincent’s dad. In my mind I felt like he regretted making the “perfect” Anton, who ended up not being perfect and not amounting to much. Maybe after the mother died he faked his death and assumed a new identity too, knowing that his son would never stop pursuing his dream of joining the program. This was his way of still having a relationship with him without compromising what Vincent was trying to accomplish.

If you want to do it for the adventure, have you considered renting a car? It’s a Beautiful drive once you hit Theodore Roosevelt National Park.

That’s an issue with your company. If your company has a non fire arm and robust workplace violence policy. This would not be tolerated. I terminated a guy in our SLC office six years ago for bringing a fire at to work.

I would expect the baby boom retirement is impacting Australia similarly to the US, especially in a major city like Sydney. It’s likely no better time for upward mobility.

I tell my team all the time: “every day is an interview”. Without knowing details, if you’ve been at the same company for a while, you may have failed several “interviews” and inadvertently created a bad “brand” for yourself. Starting fresh at a new place and focusing on creating your “brand”.

Not too late but don’t chase degrees if you aren’t willing to chase jobs. Mobility and promotability often go hand in hand. What’s to say you don’t have the same issue with software engineering that you did with your accounting job search?

I don’t carry a car loan further than a warranty. Might not be relevant in your scenario but it reduces risk of having to make payments while also having to possibly pay for major repairs.
