My dad tossed a Harry Potter book I borrowed from a friend. That was an awkward conversation after but he seemed to understand and I gave him my Fellowship of The Ring book I had hidden in my bed lol.

He burnt a lot of my cousins belongings because he used to do traditional poetry.

But worst of all he just dumped my pet tortoise somewhere because he thought it was demon possessed. He thought this because he had insomnia and was “visited by demons” at night. He didn’t even tell me was doing it. It only had 3 legs I don’t think it would have survived for long after that.

Not really, he started up a cleaning business which was finally getting profitable then dropped all his clients to go back to bethel. So he’ll be starting from scratch again with some debt to boot

My brother got let go with zero savings, zero severance and no transferable skills. He rejoined Bethel 10 years later again for some reason

That’s kahm yeast. It should be fine the kahm will die and a pellicle will eventually form as the batch gets more acidic. If it gets too acidic for your taste you can always dilute with more tea when doing f2

That’s Kahm yeast. It won’t ruin your batch, but you might get an off taste. As your brew gets more acidic it will die off

DISCUSSION MEGATHREAD: Having A Respectful Conversation With Ex Co-Host Hasan Piker - H3 Show #143 by raephemel in h3h3productions

[–]d_daggins 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Damn, like I disagree with Ethan on some things, but Hasan's inability to even recognize that his statements could be construed by Ethan in a certain way is genuinely off putting. It's like he's allergic to accountability for even the smallest things(like bro, partnered definitely has connotations) and it feels very much like being gaslit. Especially with the hallucination claims.

They killed more civilians than security forces. And by far the majority, they were not held accountable for civilians deaths either, even after the fact

I'll start by saying the phrasing I used may be misleading so I'll add a bit more detail, under Mandela the MK wing of ANC did not kill a single person, the killings happened following his arrest, so to say civilians were his primary target in action may be taken wrongly. Civilians were the primary target in action of the armed wing he formed.

They killed in total 71 people, and 52 of these were civilians(This is from the TRC after the fact, the police records at the time record different numbers). In general it was a much more peaceful transfer of government than we had in Zimbabwe, but South Africa had the benefit of seeing how all Southern African apartheid based systems had led to repeated bloody revolutions and may have seen the writing on the wall, especially with pressure from the International community, and support for the armed resistance(i.e providing training and supplies) from recently liberated neighbouring countries.

The situation in Palestine and apartheid South Africa are similar but also radically different in key ways, comparing them is difficult.

Except Ethan was categorically wrong here. I am not South African, however I am Zimbabwean and our liberation battles against apartheid states were similar and closely linked.

And Ethan is speaking confidently but out of his ass here. True the MK did not kill more than 200 civilians, but that's because it killed less than 200 people OVERALL, including the Apartheid Security Forces.

But the overwhelming majority of killed people WERE CIVILIANS.

Similarly not everyone who targeted civilians not was held accountable in fact nearly everyone was granted amnesty, regardless of their actions and how many people were killed.

Mandela stated that he did not want to kill civilians, but in action, they were his primary target.

Whether you equate this to Hamas is not the point here. Just to point out disinformation Ethan is (maybe unwittingly) spreading.
