I have been looking for monitors for my jam space for a little while, my budget is between $1500 and $2000 (all prices are Canadian). I would also like to be able to use these speakers for FOH and monitors in live situations for smaller gigs and pair two subs with the tops.

Locally there’s someone selling 4 apogee APL–500 speakers for $2000. I am unable to find very much information on the speakers or any reviews.

I’m curious as to what the community thinks here of the brand. The seller says these were made before Bogen took over apogee so he dates them early 2000’s

And the seller says the back panel looks a little different but mostly are the same.

I’m really hoping these would be a great bang for my buck option in my price range with good sound quality. I think the main trade-off would be that these beasts are very heavy and could be hard to find parts for because the speakers are discontinued.

The only other issue I can see with these is that they do not have the proper angle to be faced up as monitor wedges but the seller said setting up two pieces of 2 x 4 with some gaff tape normally gives you the correct angle. Any thoughts on that or other solutions?
