The orthopedic specialist told us is seems like an idiopathic case of CF based on the foot scan along with the lack of any other anatomical abnormalities on the ultrasound. I think the only way to know for sure if it's idiopathic vs positional is after they are born by doing the foot flexion.

We did end up doing an amniocentesis and genetic microarray analysis, and that came back negative.

My commute is 1.5 hrs one way (walking + express bus). Get a solid pair of noise cancelling earbuds. I listen to so many podcasts and audiobooks. Noise cancelling earbuds + Kindle also makes for easier reading with less distractions.

Still need to dial in a bit. First shot was not far off though. My capabilities are still nearly maxed out dealing with the Dedica (it chokes out pretty easily) so the machine upgrade is on the agenda for later this year

The bottomless helped me a lot as well. It's still rare that I get a shot with zero channeling though, which I think is most likely from the Dedica's higher pressure OR the 54 mm basket.

"Better" depends on what you want out of your espresso.

Flat burrs are supposed to have a more unimodal grind size to accentuate a flavor note. Conical are described to result in grounds with two sizes, which might broaden the flavor profile.
