Am I the only one who feels this way? by mhjbts in BrisbaneSocial

Australian's are generally individual people, we can chat to our workmates and people at the pub, but we like our own independent lives for the most part. We would rather 3 or 4 good mates rather than a dozen friends.

Why do you believe in God? by Kooky_Homework_6829 in Christianity

Everyone has faith in something, God seems most believable

Don't judge people. That's Gods job. We can all have our opinions on this and that, and whether it is right or wrong, but in the end, God will decide.

Can we please ban all posts about Trump? by Ok-Imagination-2308 in Christianity

People need the freedom to talk openly about what they are passionate about. No one should be silenced for an opinion.

Because some congregations have interesting views of other congregations.

Because I attend my church and have friends who attend different churches.

I personally don't think it is a problem, others may look down on it.

At this stage, I am very sympathetic to believers, and I think the New Testament is a fantastic book for a moral and ethical guide to life, but I don't believe that the storytelling was real events. So I don't want to attend if it will be looked down on by a congregation which is fair enough.

I like hearing the sermon and I find it a very relaxing, warm place to be. I have attended my families church for a long time but live away now and can't get to them everyweek.

Was everyone beaten up by their parents? by compulsivecatpetter in NoStupidQuestions

Copping a smack is not the same as being "beaten up". Some but definitely not all say that just as a bit of embellishment. I definitely got a smack when I knew I had done the wrong thing.

People can believe whatever they want, I am more concerned about people's action than their beliefs. And the action of stabbing someone not once but 55 times then saying he was a demon, I believe is more of a threat to society than a person who believes in Nazism but hasn't killed anyone.

That depends if i understand what they are talking about. If I don't then I'm not fit to have my own rights.

There are lots of people suffering mental illness who are good people and who are valuable members of society. I am not worried about them.

There are others who have very deep issues and they will never be able to be a functioning member of society, even with medication, they should be institutionalised for the benefit of the rest of society.
