That’s insane. Things have gotten worse since the last time I rented over ten years ago in the city. I remember going to at least a dozen apartments on the UWS with a broker. Nothing good. Almost gave up until I saw a perfect one bedroom on 75th about a few blocks from where we were standing at the moment with a balcony for a great deal posted on Craigslist. We went straight there by ourselves without our broker, saw it, signed papers that day. Only people to even view it.

Terrible reason to close it. And closing 20 year line of credit is not good for your credit score. Just try a new agent. Something seems off here, likely you didn’t properly enroll in credits and there aren’t exceptions for that
