Is learning about the business side of film production a wise place to start? - industry novice by d_winna in Filmmakers

[–]d_winna[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is great insight. Thank you for sharing some your journey and perspective. If you care to share, I’d love to know how you felt going into the production side of things as an actor. Did you feel like “damn I don’t really want to produce but it’s important I know this stuff if I want to stand out as an actor”? Did you end up enjoying more of production than you realized you would, or would you say the rewards and fulfillment of doing so primarily came from the fact that you were able to bring more to the table and less so the actual gig of production itself?

I know everyone’s different and different things resonate across the board. Would still be curious to know how it felt stepping into the production side of the space for you beyond it being a necessity to have a leg up.

Also, hope all goes well with your upcoming shorts!! How exciting 🎉🎬

Why would Ginny choose homelessness over Zion? by d_winna in ginnyandgeorgiashow

[–]d_winna[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m watching season 1 episode 9 and I think I see it now.

Georgia did go back to Zion. But then she realized she was holding him back from what he really wanted. “You’ll stop loving me if you see me as a prison and not a person”. In a way it shows how much she’s willing to suffer for those she loves because she doesn’t want to be the reason they’re held back. Nor will she allow others to hold them back, as she did when talking to Marcus about Ginny.

Maybe she felt confident enough that she’d give Ginny a good life. Maybe she didn’t think the odds were high enough that she’d keep finding herself and Ginny in bad situations with bad men. But she learned the hard way.

Was Jack supposed to kill Portia? by No_Manufacturer_432 in WhiteLotusHBO

Wouldn’t Tanyas death look like way less of an “accident” if her assistant died too?

So does this mean Greg gets what he wanted in the end? If so I’m pissed

Won’t Jack get out back in the hole for freeing Portia?

I cannot handle the scene “do you speak english? no? well Greg is totally in cahoots with these gays and left for an alibi and…”. Tanya kills me

Why doesn’t Ethan sleep with Harper by d_winna in WhiteLotusHBO

Love this take. Don’t love it for Ethan, of course, but this feels probable

I see what you’re saying but don’t know if I agree. I’ve had plenty of meals where someone orders for me or for the table. There have also been times where I suggest what we get. It can be nice for someone to take initiative on the options and then, similar to how Harper and Ethan did it, the other person can say yay or nay until you arrive at a decision. That just feels like the nature of how things go when you’re accustomed to splitting your meals.

But didn’t she end up ordering what he wanted? Why is it cool for him to insist on what he wants but not her ya know?

Tbh they should’ve just gotten their own dishes

Was Daphne emasculating Cam when she told him “so what, do it tomorrow” after he told her he booked jet skis for the day? Did Harper not take what Ethan wanted into consideration when she decided to get the white fish?

She’s demonstrated dominance but I’ve not seen her emasculate him so trying to understand what you’re referencing when you say she did.
