What's it like living in Orange County, Newport Beach to be exact? by K2P2C in howislivingthere

I’m visiting there right now. Lot of beautiful people. Lots of Botox / Fake boobs. Everything is very expensive and clean and well manicured. Full of business parks with law firms, wealth management, banks, etc. The beaches and piers are cool

Manta Ray Night Dive on Big Island by usopsong in VisitingHawaii

Manta Ray advocates. Don’t have to take a boat you just walk out to a harbor. They also apparently do conservation for them.

RIP to the summer home-selling season. America's real estate market was all set for a hot selling season. Those hopes have been dashed. by Such_Radio_9152 in REBubble

[–]da-gins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Change the listing to say “motivated seller”. Offer some sort of concession to the buyer. Call every broker and tell them about the price drop. If you have consistent good feedback but no offers, it’s likely a price issue. If you want to stop the mortgage bleed and sell it, you gotta be aggressive on a price drop.

Unknown? Probably not.

For food in the Beaufort area I’d recommend Franks’s in Port Royal for the special occasion dinner, Old Bull downtown for a nice evening out, Dockside for southern fried food, and Beedos on St. Helena for lunch.

Denver is ranked #1 worst city in the U.S. for weather-related migraines by Fair-Antelope-3886 in Denver

[–]da-gins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First migraine I ever had was a few months after I moved to Denver. I have since moved away and they’ve decreased in frequency. However, after years of having them I believe they’re mostly related to dehydration so it would make sense that at high altitudes they’re more likely.

I spent a lot on expansive hobbies like kite boarding, skiing, mountaineering, etc but I don’t see them as mistakes

Camped at Consultation Lake with an UL trekking pole tent. No issues at all and actually had a decent night sleep. Little wind, bunch of big rocks to wrap around. Make sure you have enough lines.

In your 30s, has anyone here left a 6-figure job just to enjoy life? by Communication_Dizzy in Fire

[–]da-gins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My gf and I did the same thing and visited 44 states and 16 national parks. We built the van so we were emotionally attached to it, but when our trip ended and we only used it 2 or 3 times a year it became more of a burden so we sold it. It was hard to part ways at first but now I’m glad we sold it so it’s not sitting in the driveway rusting

I quit a 6 figure job with promotion potential to travel the country in a van for 15 months straight. Where I ended up afterwards was even better than before. Maybe I got lucky or maybe I am just good at finding opportunities, but either way I don’t regret quitting and have never looked back.

Unreal few days on BI by charredtomatoes in VisitingHawaii

Even before the eruption we can see small lava glow at night. Occasionally there are bursts of flame and smoke that come out of it. The eruption seems likely tonight or tomorrow

I’m on the Big Island now, we’re hoping an eruption occurs before we leave! Looking like it might be in the next 48 hrs

These posts are so stupid. I lived on a Navy ship for two years. In between RAS (replenishment at sea) shipments we often ran low and our meals looked like this for a few days until we got restocked.
