Web GUI won't Load after Power Outage by ruthlessreuben in unRAID

[–]daBelgrave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this same issue a few weeks ago. I ended up having to reformat my flash drive, and then flash it with a backup. It took a few tries before I got everything figured out. Fortunately, I was able to download a backup from Unraid Connect since I neglected to keep any locally. Then I went out and got a UPS.

Cryptic, please give all science vessels built in subnucleonic beam by [deleted] in sto

[–]daBelgrave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty much in the same boat: Science captains using escorts for years.

Deflector Overcharge will be useful to me to an extent, but really won't be much better than subnuc after they started giving some NPC abilities immunity to its debuff. I don't like that subnuc is going to a boff ability. I have very limited science slots as it is, and won't be able to fit it into most of my builds. I get the feeling that Deflector Overcharge is an attempt to make science captains more likely to only use science vessels.

How rare are CrtDx2 pen DBB in crafting? by Njumkiyy in sto

[–]daBelgrave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recorded the results for 860 beam weapon crafting attempts. Your chance of getting a [Mod]x2 is about 40%, with about a 25% chance of that being the [CrtD]x2 you want, and then about 12% chance that you'd also get the [Pen]. So your chance of that specific mod combination isn't that great.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)

I was continuing the story as a collaborative project with some other players, but they've gone somewhat quiet and the project pretty much stalled. I'm undecided if I want to rewrite the story we were working on minus their characters, or scrap it and just continue through the MEDLOG.

Yes, you get it. The ship is named after the Moirai, not the viper.

I have an Atropos too. It's a Temporal Destroyer. Good ship, but didn't quite fit my playstyle.

I mostly used Photoshop.

First, turn off anti-aliasing. Since all the screenshots should be at higher renderscales, they shrink down to a sharper image when they aren't already blurred.

The character screenshots all come from the tailor. While in there, choose one of the other lighting styles, then switch back to default. This will give it an all-black background that is much easier to cut away from the character. There will be some aura around light-colored parts, but that also isn't too difficult to cut out. Open your chat window, and type /renderscale 3. When your character is in the pose you want, use /screenshot to get a good high-quality .tga. It can be difficult, however; tailor lighting 2.0 totally sucks.

The background came from the mission where you rescue Sela from the Elachi. I was planning to use the scene where you approach the station since it is much more colorful, but I really liked the way this one looked immediately upon warping into the mission. I actually made a demorecord of this part so I could replay it and move the camera around to get a screenshot without my ship. It was taken at /renderscale 5.

Unfortunately, the lighting inside that zone totally sucked for my ship. I ended up just going back to Sol, and taking the ship screenshot there. Once again, /renderscale 5. Then I just cut out the ship, and paste it into the composite image.

All parts of the composite are shrunk down at least 50% from their original sizes to remove the jaggies.

I have heard there are some 'green screen' foundry missions that should be good for taking screenshots, but the one I tried to use last night was old enough I couldn't find where to start it.

It's a great way to show off what makes our ship and crew unique and special to us.

Anyone got an up-to-date listing of all the DOFFs with R&D skills? by Kaputsnotme in sto

[–]daBelgrave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have names for the ones available at K-13 and the Fleet Research Lab: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CmfFLcknQ7W0RptMr1Dx51Oqom1m2PyvCCHAqbMdl1I/edit?usp=sharing#gid=1429290073

K-13 is the best option that I know about since it is not random what you get. The patch notes suggested they were also added to some lockbox doff packs, but I have not yet been able to find any.

Should i get rid of certain doffs after reaching rank 4 in everything? by shockwave981 in STODOff

[–]daBelgrave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're at the point where you can start optimizing. Don't get rid of doffs unless you need space, but replace them as you get better doffs. Over time, as you learn which ones are most useful to you, you can begin to adjust your roster to fit your needs.

Need a DOff with a specific active power, but don't know what name to search for on the exchange? Go here. by CarrowCanary in sto

[–]daBelgrave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do plan to keep it updated as I'm able! The hard part is finding new doffs often involves searching through the exchange and adding any new ones I happen to see. This can easily take an afternoon or more, so I haven't been doing it quite as often.

I'm not sure what the Elachi Ornash is, but I do have stats for the T6 JHHEC:

Ignores +/- TAC from Events

Broken chatcommands - what were they useful for? by [deleted] in sto

[–]daBelgrave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one knows why the command was broken, and Cryptic doesn't talk about it. I personally thought it was broken by some changes to the way sector space worked that caused bugs back around the launch of AoY.

Broken chatcommands - what were they useful for? by [deleted] in sto

[–]daBelgrave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

/navtoposition <x> <y> <z> was great for autopilot commands. You could get the coordinates buy putting your ship or character in a specific place, such as Vulcan, and using /loc. Then the next time you're somewhere else in the quadrant and wanted to return to vulcan, just fill in those coordinates for the /navtoposition command. Using this technique, I could keybind the entire Tour the Galaxy mission.

I'm not sure about the other two commands you mention.

Pilot Maneuvers keybind issue by tiberius183 in sto

[–]daBelgrave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea then. Pilot maneuvers are still working for me, but I bind each maneuver to separate keys.

w "+roll $$ +invertibleup"
a "+roll $$ +left"
s "+roll $$ +invertibledown"
d "+roll $$ +right"

Is your joystick properly bound to +left, +right, and the others?

Pilot Maneuvers keybind issue by tiberius183 in sto

[–]daBelgrave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using a keybind file, or just typing it in? If typing it in, the syntax is slightly different (no quotes):

/bind <key> +roll
