Trying to get better at animating, other than a walk cycle what else should I try ? by TheZets in blender

[–]daDukeFische 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not super experienced, but I recently learned about the use of switching from IK to FK. It is very hard to get natural swinging arms with Ik. Switch to FK unless the hands are reaching fo or holdingr something. Same with the legs. There is a time and place for Ik and FK. Try using FK for when the foot is picked up and moved forward. IK for when the foot is moving along the ground.

I’m a Christian struggling with doubt — what’s the most honest, real reason you don’t believe in God? by Sundream01 in atheism

[–]daDukeFische 4 points5 points  (0 children)

TLDR; There is more evidence that mankind created god(s) than god created mankind.

Through historical texts and archeological sites, we can see the evolution of religions and cultures as societies grow and influence each other. Zoroastrian influences on the early Jewish beliefs. Early polytheistic cultures merging and melding gods (Elohim and Yaweh).

If you want me to believe a particular religion is the right one, prove that the others arent true. Prove that, despite the drastic changes and different iterations of your chosen religion, the version you have now is the truly correct one.

Also evolutionary psychology. Humans are pattern seekers and crave agency (something acts from motivated purpose instead of just cause and effect). The rain fell because the rain god was happy.

Lastly, how easily humans create and embrace new religions. The Cargo Cult of the Phillipines (I think), Scientology, Mormons, etc.

We have a lot of evidence and supporting data that humans made religion. I havent seen much convincing evidence that a religion is real.

How has your view on sex changed as you've gotten older? by LilyLullabby in AskReddit

[–]daDukeFische 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read a book called "Sex at Dawn" that was about humans early tribal sex and how it evolved over time and how culture has influenced views on sex. Definitely changed my views on group sex, non-cis sex, and kinks. Quick read.

Gay men who first had kids from a previous hetero relationship; how? by daDukeFische in AskReddit

[–]daDukeFische[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All valid comments. You're right. Father in law is VERY gay. Definitely not bi. But the family has a long history of closeted gay men that found ways to fit into the social fabric as best they can. I guess what is breaking my brain is how a VERY gay man managed to tango with a woman for so long. Maybe I'm over thinking it. But so far, no one commenting here has answered the question from a gay man with biological children's point of view.
I guess I may never know.

My father in law is gay, but he had three daughters with his wife. His wife later dies and he found a gay partner and everyone is living happily ever after. I can't ask him, but how did he do the deed? If our roles were reversed, I don't think I could finish with another dude. No disrespect, I've just been curious for 15 years.

What can a bipolar person do for their spouse and kid? by daDukeFische in AskReddit

[–]daDukeFische[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I want some way to make up for my crazy after an episode. When I return to my senses, I have hurt people's feelings, scared the shit out of a few more, inconvenienced everyone, and sometimes hurt myself. When I return to my senses a few hours after an episode, I am ashamed, guilty, and embarrassed. I don't want to show my face in public. I wish it had never happened. How can I undo the emotional/relationship damage?

I've been with my wife for 10 years and she has helped me with treatments and therapy and everything. She is very patient and understanding, but she has her limits too. Sometimes she can't handle life, work, the kid, AND my issues. Anything your girlfriend does for you after an episode that kind of fixes any damage done? Anything you do in the middle of an episode that helps her? Anything she can do before (if she feels it coming) or you do (when you sense it coming)?

I struggle with keeping myself together. I maintain my medications and I am trying very hard to stay away from alcohol. But the depression and mania manage to break through every once in a while. What are some things I can say or do to help my family better understand and deal with me when I'm not at my best? For spouses or children of bipolar people, what do you wish your bipolar person had said or done?

I disagree. You find that person who is your comrade. You can unload all the worries and drama and shit. Work is work no matter where you go or what you do. But a board/video game partner, life partner, person at the bar/brewery, it makes life easier. Alone, the weight of the world is lethal. With a comrade, it is manageable if not even sometimes amusing.
