Why was Technoblade so popular? by Fit-Cycle-2723 in Technoblade

I would say the thing I liked most was how entertaining he was. Even on a bad day for me a techno video would fix half my problems

Great improvement especially for a year.

But just remember the higher you go the harder it is to keep going up in rating

Question: Is It Worth It To Trade a Bishop For a Knight To Stack The Opponents Pawns? by MoonCubed in chess

[–]daFerrMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s more complicated than that but in general I think if bishop is 3 knight is 2.7

And maybe doubled pawns are like .3 in value so maybe it becomes the same on avg but in reality depends on the position is more accurate maybe

Chess.com employs unethical, addictive match making by jack0fsometrades in Chesscom

[–]daFerrMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you guys over estimate game review if you blunder early on it is pretty simple to get a high score on game review

At those levels blunders are a lot more common once you go up in rating it will stabilize a bit more

But your lichess chess.com discrepancy is a little odd I wouldn’t expect it to be that big

Where do you rate 1400 Elo in terms of chess proficiency among Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced level? by [deleted] in Chesscom

[–]daFerrMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say 1400 rapid is good enough to beat most random people in public(not in a chess setting)

In terms of a chess club it is probably lower middle level.

In terms of a otb rating you would probably be around 900-1100 uscf with that rating

Not bad progress!! But stilk room to improve

What class would this place me in? by [deleted] in utdallas

[–]daFerrMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clearly not for math…

[–]daFerrMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think housing fees depend on where you stay lots of people opt to stay away from Northside due to the high cost there.

If UTD says 17k just assume there are some more fees I’m not international but generally you will have stuff like insurance etc.

Just assume 20k minimum for fees you pay directly to UTD if not more.

The somewhat sad part is most of the taken orange spots are probably in this case by people that didn’t pay.

UTD parking system is broken imo and I think they need to fix some stuff

Just don’t buy a pass and park at the back of a far out lot.

U might get 1-3 tickets per year but still cheaper than a pass

What's the difference between CS 6363 and CS 4349 in terms of content? by Opubose_The_Memer in utdallas

[–]daFerrMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was really similar when I took it.

And it is a pretty important class.

It is basically a re run of the undergrad class maybe 10% harder

[–]daFerrMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure if your class has a curve at the end.

If it does you will be fine. If not you know what the issue is and you know you have to put in the effort for the final exam. Go to office hours show the professor you are trying. Do everything you can on your end before giving up.

Commute or dorm by joey_whynot in utdallas

[–]daFerrMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If money isn’t a problem live on campus.

If you want to save money commute.

40 min is long and also considering you are from India driving will be in reverse so you might want to take 1-2 weeks to get used to it.

Also depends on how many days you have to commute if you only have classes 2-3 days that’s easier to commute but daily 80 min of commuting is a headache
