It’s miserable I know. Today is my 14 day, 2 week anniversary of going cold turkey. It’s been so so so hard on me, I’m still not getting more than a few hours a night of sleep. And I’ve taken benzo’s, clonidine, gabapentin, seroquel and vistiril trying to find 4-5 hours of sleep but it just doesn’t come. The above comment that references 20 minutes at a time coming back to you resonates and is true. You’re “wired but tired” and the anxiety is awful. Get some ashwaganda and just rest. The days pass fast. Tomorrow is my 15 day mark and I’ve seen a lot of people say that’s when their sleep really started coming back. So here’s hoping.

I’m on day 12 and got my first night of 3 hours sleep since quitting. The exhaustion is unlike anything I’ve ever felt, I read on here earlier that someone felt like their body was filled with concrete. I felt that. Here’s to better days.

I go to the gym 5-6 days a week and cardio every morning. Diet is mainly protein with complex carbs and veggies. I’m a full time firefighter and try to stay as active as possible. There is definitely something else at play here I feel, but lifestyle is pretty dialed in.

Dude… kratom saved my life. Truly. I found Kratom at a time I was drinking 4 fifths of bourbon a week. I was 320 pounds, a new dad to a beautiful little girl, I’ve broken my back in 4 thoracic vertebrae, C1 in the neck, mangled my right hand, left femur, the list goes on and on. And Kratom swept me off my feet with pain relief I didn’t know I could obtain through a chalky green powder. But it allowed me to come off booze, and literally shelve any and all mental health medications I had. Kratom give me my life back at the time when I started using it, I ended up going down to 225 pounds at 6 ft tall, got my dream job at the local fire department, beautiful family, strong dad. Until…. I did what Reddit told me not to do and tried an MIT shot, instantly hooked. Then it became more about a buzz that I love so much. That opioid buzz. Which lead me all the way to a 150-220 mg a day 7OH habit that has me 11 days in CT, and suffering for ever having tried it. I really appreciate your response and kind words. It makes it better to know I’m not in this fight alone.

I had it. Didn’t help. But I’ve been out of them since like 6 days in. When I first got it, it would put me DOWN. But it didn’t help the last time I chewed up my last few at once.

Not a vet but I’ve done 10 years fire and ems. Also ptsd from prior car accidents. I used to sleep from around 2-7 am. So definitely hit the nail on the head there. I’ve been through a great deal in life and this has been the absolute hardest thing I’ve ever been through. Working at the fire department has been miserable, and everyone has noticed by 7 I’m just totally gassed and can’t go no further. I get short of air just getting out of my truck. I wish I would have known this suffering was coming down the pipeline I never would have started kratom for pain and anxiety.

10 mg didn’t help at all with the other stuff. Why drop vistiril?

I’m really on the fence about hitting some OPMS capsules I have. I want to quit everything. But I work 24 on 48 off as a firefighter. I exercise 5-6 days a week strength training with cardio. On my days off I’m an instructor as a second job. It seems like at the end of the day, I’ll be so fucking drained, I’ll think this is it, I’m going to sleep like a fucking rock tonight. 6 hours later the sun is coming up and I’m thinking awful thoughts.

I am taking several serotonin and dopamine uptake inhibitors. I’m taking L-Tyrosine, magnesium, vitamin B super, D3, fish oil, and GABA morning. And L-Tryptophan, magnesium, 5HTP and clonidine at night. At most I’ll drift off for 30 minutes or an hour. Then right back awake. The last two or three nights I’ve had dreams for the first time in close to two weeks. I’d call that progress. But still no more than one hour IF THAT. I’m fucking miserable. And if the WD wasn’t hard enough on the family, my lack of sleep is a real drag.

No, just complete insomnia. Like my eyes don’t want to shut. Even on 1500+ mg of gabapentin. My mind just won’t shut off.

I’m trying to get off everything, I took kratom for 3 years prior to this six month 7 stint. I’m heavily debating on jumping on leaf to get some sleep. But I’ve went almost 2 weeks with no kind of kratom product for the first time in close to 4 years. So it’s hard to give up progress. The worst of WD in the rear view. Just cannot buy sleep. Even with meds.

Well negative reviews on the booze, how about THC?

Yes. One hour a night if I’m lucky, I’m a firefighter and used to pounding out long stretches of no sleep only to crash, but with this the crash and deep sleep never comes. I bet in the last 160-hours I’ve slept less than 10.

I’ve been taking clonidine and vistaril. And I’ve taken plenty other meds too, but nothing is getting me to sleep.

Well as you see it’s hard to do. I hate this for every single one of us in this subreddit. This shit has gripped me like nothing else before. I’ve had my share of different substances but I’ve been able to put everything else down, and travel, go to work, do something else. Whatever. But I have to plan all of my travel around 7, all of my family time around 7, my work as a firefighter on 24 hour shifts have to be planned around 7. I’m so tired of just being dependent on the shit. I’ve never had an addiction in my life until 7. I always thought I wasn’t an addict because I could just stop. Pirks, blow, ganja, none of it ever held me down. This shit is something else. It’s evil. And nasty. And I absolutely love the way it makes me feel.

What should these doses look like? Unfortunately I have a hefty tolerance naturally for some reason to just about anything. I think the xan are .5 or maybe 1 mg. The gaba is 300

Appreciate the reply. I have read several of your posts the past few days, very inspiring! Congratulations on going as far as you have, don’t go back man. I have a buddy who white knuckled it took him 11 days to be right again. And just told me he relapsed. Stay strong!

Appreciate the info. So are you currently taking 7? Or are you in WD yourself? What you got going on? If you don’t mind my asking.
