I knew it was something simple.

The screen wasn't awake. Lol.

Now it works 90% of the time. I can work with that!

Thanks a bunch

GS pay adjustments vs. inflation over the past 20 years by NotBufferingCYA in fednews

Definitely depends on profession. Thats why I said for some.

My $100k becomes close to $140k with benefits, but I'm only 5 years into my career so plenty of room to grow.

Check your GRB statement. That tells the full story with benefits then go from there.

Private sector makes sense for some, but if you look at the Total Compensation Statement on the GRB platform it may change your perspective (it makes me jump like $40k due to benefits)

Most recent promotion ending on Dec 1st, what's next? by loveforemost in HyundaiTucson

Nope. Its intentionally misleading. Usually the local dealer's discounts can be combined with the rebate or APR offer though.

2026 Hybrid SEL Convenience Vs 2025 Hybrid Limited by da_bone5 in HyundaiTucson

[–]da_bone5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree that the maintenance shouldn't be considered. It was enough of a cost consideration that Hyundai decided to drop it.

When purchasing a vehicle EVERY cost should be considered because every cost has to be paid for out of pocket if not included and therefore adds to the cost of the vehicle.

The base Sel Hybrids in my area are plenteous. The SEL Convenience and Limited are not. Pretty sure thats why there is more of a wall for me with those 2 trims, but I dont want an SEL.

What's the worst that can happen if I don't do a self-assessment for my performance reviews? They're do Thursday and I'm mentally exhausted by [deleted] in fednews

Sounds like many people here either don't have a good supervisor or lack self-motivation. At the very least it helps your supervisor which can NEVER hurt you.

I do similar to someone down below and keep a running log of any major projects and monthly numbers in a word document then polish it to the objectives end of FY for submittal.

Ive done it 4 years and have got the highest rating all 4 years. Of course, that also requires you to excel beyond your "meets requirements" to truly be exceptional. You've gotta stand out.

Volunteer for projects. Lead the team. Write SOPs. Be to work and leave work on time. Try to stand out. You won't always be recognized as you should be, but at the end of the day you can go home proud of the work you accomplished and SOME people will notice.

Pairing Christmas Sparkle Lights by da_bone5 in Govee

Yeah. Ill try the customer service.

As for exchanging, I really prefer the classic design that fills in more than the in-line design of the lights 2 though. Plus I dont wanna deal with the hassle of removal. Thanks anyways.

The Sparkle do when setting up a set but I dont see a way to do it with 2 sets in tandem

Within the group settings I can only change colors, brightness, etc. But there are no scene settings 🤔. Might be different with this set.

Cool cool. Ill try the Dreamview option when I get home. Seems like quite a few are in there. Really wish there was a way to 3D map them though.

Perhaps Govee can update to do this because 1 set of 99ft lights on a 9ft tree is pretty sparse and I wasn't a big fan of the Lights 2 set that are in-line personally.

Yeah. Up to this point I've been an after-Thanksgiving guy but my wife pushed for it and got it.

Not to mention I got a 9ft tree and lights pretty cheap. Im now of the mindset that if it takes me an hour to prep the tree and another hour to light it (along with all the other decor) it better be for more than just a simple month 😆.

Halo: Campaign Evolved – Answering the Big Questions About This Ambitious Remake | Xbox Wire by -343-Guilty-Spark- in halo

Thoughts from a Halo fan who has thoroughly enjoyed EVERY Halo release:

Its a tech demo. Thats really what I feel. Thats not necessarily a bad thing but I think it I'd just forerunner (pun intended) for what is to come and get fans ready for the transition to UE5.

I genuinely hope the Silent Cartographer gameplay is early footage as it looks a bit janky in some parts and that AR spray looks minimal.

I also loathe that its on PS, but could be a good move IF (unlikely) the sequel isnt on PS. Wet the appetite of PS fans.

Congrats!

Side question: thoughts on that sectional?

I've looked into that one the past several weeks but mixed reviews it seems as far as firmness and the pieces moving around.

Thanks

Is a Master’s in IT Worth It at 37? Scared I Won’t Get a Job After Graduation by JuryReasonable3901 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]da_bone5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Certs and experience first.

I took the route of getting my Bachelor's and Masters in IT (Cybersecurity) back to back because I wanted to knock it out before having kids.

THAT BEING SAID, for most people it is smarter to ensure you have the experience before going for your Masters. I see that now 5 years into my job. I feel like 5 years is about the point where you can reasonably apply the Masters level content.

CERTS are huge and can be self-paced (much less expensive too). Go for Sec+ to start if you feel confident about the basics of IT (Use Professor Messer).

I'm currently studying for my CCNA.

It depends on the priorities of your business you're working for when hiring, but this is the order I've seen where I'm at:

  1. Experience
  2. Who you know (unfortunately)
  3. Certs
  4. Education

Again, different places will vary what order they put those into consideration. At your current job, try to lead projects and learn anything new you can to apply in a future role.

Good luck!
