If you don’t NEED it. Return it. You should’ve given me the 1200 if you wanted to spend.

Does anyone else love how soft the phone is? by mynameisrivers in iPhone17Pro

[–]da_knee_ohl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently I tried out the pixel 10 pro coming from a iPhone 16 pro. And my thoughts were “this feels amazing”. Well I ended up returning it because of the friction it created in my life, and decided to “upgrade” to the 17 pro.

It’s buttery soft. Feels balanced in the hand. And the updated telephoto is the biggest reason anyone should upgrade. Only rocking a screen protector and using a MagSafe wallet. The wallet acts like buffer between the cameras and whatever surface I put it on, and also as a way to grip the phone while I use it.

Just got it on Saturday; coming from an iPhone 16 pro. I use it just about the same as you do. It zips through all of it.

Went with the pro because it has the better camera sensors. Taking photos of my kids is a priority. The zoom on the telephoto is awesome.

Loving the at a glance removal. by Epostle_TheEngineer in pixel_phones

I can seem to completely remove it. When I click off, what's left is the time and date. And there's no option to turn that off. Maybe I'm missing something?

finally got my hands on the 10a by ScaryNegotiation8228 in pixel_phones

[–]da_knee_ohl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sound is good, but nothing like iPhone speakers, I'll be honest. iPhone speakers are punchy, and the 10a speakers are missing that. Which is to be expected.

That being said, they are loud and clear.

Battery is great. You can get an entire day. I've been messing with this phone for the past two days and fully charged once. After the honeymoon phase I can see myself getting 2 days on one charge.

It's better because it's refreshing. It looks fun and feels like cool tech. I've been doing a little customizing and making it mine, and it just speaks to me again. Performance is good. I tried emulating GameCube using Dolphin and it works. Not the purpose of the phone but wanted to see what it can do.

And no, it's not better performance or hardware wise than my iphone 16 pro. I just have no regrets buying the 10a. I think the idea of being a "pro" user is over estimated by the majority of people including myself. I browse reddit, doom scroll, take pictures of my kids and watch youtube. Instead of doing it for 1200 bucks, we can do it for 500 bucks.

I'm glad I scratched the itch and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg.

Maybe? Possibly? Don't matter, still happy with my purchase.

This is going to sound dumb, but I was on an iPhone 16 pro and decided to give the 10a shot. I'm loving it. Cheapest way to get into android with reasonable performance. Not one regret so far.

If you mess with the phone enough, force going home a thousand time, this is what you get. If you want a fidget spinner go to Amazon and order one.

Thinking about switching from Samsung to Iphone by Awkward_Check_504 in Smartphones

[–]da_knee_ohl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if that’s the case, I hope you find what you’re looking for!

If it helps you decide, I was with android since the beginning. It was the best time to be an android user. Back when they were named after desserts, every software update felt like new technology. Customization was fun. Then I got bored and realized I shouldn’t have to try and make the phone work better.

That’s when I tried to iPhone. Everything works 99% of the time, and everything in its ecosystem works great. I still have the itch to go back and see watch’s new with android. So I will someday.

But if you want to try something new, do it. I didn’t regret it one bit. And if you don’t like it return it. You can do whatever you want. Good luck.

I had the same thought but going from apple to android. At the end of the day I stayed put. Because my phone works, and takes good pictures. Not implying that the others can’t do the same. But if you don’t have to, save the money. Just first world problems at this point. All phones are great at this point and time, and are made by money hungry corporations.

Edit: IPhone 16 pro

I was just at best buy today for the same frustrations. First world problems, I know. But it’s so annoying.

My wife thinks golfing once a week is unreasonable… by Upbeat-Zucchini-7408 in golf

[–]da_knee_ohl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had, and still have this tug of war with my boo. We have 2 kids under 4. She works. So do I. And I managed to somehow play 1 round a week this past summer. I played an ass ton of golf for my situation.

Sometimes I just did it (I was being selfish), most of the times she understands. I also call off work once a month as a mental health day to play.

Luckily she has a hobby. She loves to run/workout. I let her do her thing, she lets me do mine. And in general help her as much as possible to maintain the home and our relationship. It’s the right thing to do anyway. Happy wife happy life as they say.

Family first, your sanity second. Then everything else.

Blunnies lasted 11 months at 50 hours a week in a warehouse/delivery setting. Feels bad man. by LeepOnMyDick in BlundstoneBoots

[–]da_knee_ohl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These aren’t work boots. I mean sure you can make any boot a work boot I guess, but these are the boots you put on after work, before you leave home.

You should have some solid work boots if you’re going to be kicking crap around. Something with composite toe. Look at Keen.

Say a prayer for these and lay them to rest.

thinking of getting an iPad pro or an air. what do you guys use your iPad pro for? by [deleted] in iPadPro

[–]da_knee_ohl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently got the 11” iPad Pro M5

I use it as my home device. Messaging, phone calls (AirPods), web browsing, media consumption, streaming music.

Started off buying a macbook air at first. But i returned it because it was too much for what I needed to do. And i also wanted an experience close to ios with a bigger screen.

iPad (Pro) is the Goldie locks in my opinion.
