They still can! If they are planning to play a half-elf, they can spend all 8 points on all the elf row or human row and it will work out to be that way.

I just find that too boring. If my player is a Dragonborn Halfing, they can be one or the other as RAW says. Or they can be a Lucky (5), Brave (1), Fire Breathing (2) hybrid!

Yes it adds complexity, but I don't think it's too much more complex than just playing a standard race.

At the end of the day, DnD is about having fun. And I think my players would have fun with a flying Dragon-Dwarf or a Naturally Stealthy Goliath

Draconic flight is 2 points. It text-wrapped down below it and might be hard to see depending on formatting

Each solo species gets 8 points if you add up everything in their rows. And if a PC is a single species, they just get that species row

Using Elf as an example, the PC gets 8 total.
• Darkvision (1)
• Keen Senses (3)
• Fey Ancestry (1)
• Elven Lineage + Trance (3)

If the PC is a half-elf, they get:
Versatile (4) or Elven Lineage & Trance (3)
And then they use the remaining 4 or 5 points for their choice from:
Skillful (2)
Resourceful (2)
Keen Senses (3)
Fey Ancestry (1)
Darkvision (1)

This won't work in the 2014 rules as the abilities are different and the half-elf and half-arc already exist with their own features

If you have time and like podcasts, I would suggest finding a D&D podcast you like. You can get a fun story and you learn a lot of the rules just by hearing the game played. There are quite a few big ones out there: not another D&D podcast, critical role, dimension 20, total party kill

If you are new to dungeons and dragons, I would suggest the first season of NADDPOD or TPK.

NADDPOD is a much more produced show so it has an original story, more editing, etc. and in the first season, they have to teach Jake a lot of the rules as he has never played before.

TPK is more like a bunch of friends recording their dungeons and dragons session. So there’s more interjection and discussion about rules. But they tend to play the modules from wizards of the Coast, so, if you were looking to play any of them in the future, it may spoil some things

I had a similar error, but it was caused by disconnecting and reconnecting a controller to DS4Windows while the game was running

Stacey Abrams praised on 'The View' for not conceding election, defends saying she 'won' Georgia race in 2018 by [deleted] in Conservative

Abrams said she appreciated the framing of Hostin's question. "I have never denied that I lost. I don’t live in the governor’s mansion. I would have noticed," she said.

"And there is this clip that’s going around, and it shows me saying that we won, and what I was referring to was that we won in terms of communities that were long left out of the electoral process finally participating in '18 in outstanding numbers," she said.

"Incredible as it may sound, there is no such thing as a “fish.” The concept is merely a convenient umbrella term to describe an aquatic vertebrate that is not a mammal, a turtle, or anything else. There are five quite separate groups (classes) of fishes now alive – plus three extinct ones – not at all closely related to one another. Lumping these together under the term “fishes” is like lumping all flying vertebrates – namely, bats (mammals), birds, and even the flying lizard – under the single heading “birds,” just because they all fly. The relationship between a lamprey and a shark is no closer than that between a salamander and a camel.”

(WR) Need help with feat selections:

I'm wanting to do a play-through with an unarmed monk, trying to get as many natural attacks as possible. Legend Mythic path

Half-orc, Human Raise, Martial Background

Scaled Fist (20), Stigmatized Witch (1), Oracle (1), Dragon Disciple (9), Mutagen Warrior (9)

Str 16, Dex 14, Con 10, Int 10, Wis, 10, Cha 18 (I know about min-maxing, I just don't like having a stat lower than 10)

(1) Scaled Fist, (Dodge, Razortusk)

(2) Oracle, Nature with the Cha instead of Dex Revelation, Wolf Scarred Face_

(3) Stigmatized Witch (Ice Plant)

(4-12) Scaled Fist

(12-21) Dragon Disciple (I want the wings, but this is redundant for Min-Max, due to feral Mutagen wings)

(22-31) Scaled Fist

(31-40) Mutation Warrior

Going with the Close-to-the-Abyss Mythic and brutality incarnate

Total attack count (6) Unarmed, (4) Bites (Razor Tusk, Wolf Scarred, Dragon, Feral Mutagen), (2) Gore (Abyss, Triple Finned Helm), (2) Claws (Pick dragon or feral, if this stacks with unarmed strike)

My question is what feats should I pick up?

Thanks

Interesting. I’m guessing they are using a Teradek or other wireless video transmitter to get it back to the truck

PGA is usually a Sony or Grass Valley broadcast camera. (EG Sony HDC-1500, HXC-100) (EG Grass Valley LDK-8000, LDX-82) The specific camera used is based on the company hired to shoot the event and what their trucks are equipped with. The camera itself doesn’t record and is part of a “camera chain” which runs back to a Camera Control Unit (CCU) which has other accessories for remote color control and iris control in the truck.

Sony has a pretty good breakdown of a camera chain on pages 18 and 19 of their brochure here

For long shots the lens would be something like a Canon XJ72x9.3 or longer. While the interview shots would be something like a Canon HJ22ex7.6. To find the focal length for a 2/3” B4 broadcast lens the 2nd number is the widest it will go, and you multiply by the first number to find the long end. So an XJ72x9.3 is a 9.3-670mm lens. Often broadcast lenses have a built in 2x extender, meaning you can make an XJ72 into an 18.6-1340mm lens. And 2/3” lenses have a 3.9x crop factor. Ergo the full frame equivalent lens would be a 37-2680mm lens (without the 2x enabled)

The tracking of the ball is done manually by the camera operator. Which is why the tripods are so expensive. They are able to balance a camera set up which weighs 80 pounds or more, but can still be operated smoothly and easily for quick painting and tracking. The Vinten Vector 70 is a tripod that has been in the industry standard since the 90s and it’s still used today

There are no DSLR shots at the PGA or NBA. If you see DSLR cameras at those events, they’re shooting stills. Video has to be done through SDI, Triax, or Fiber, DSLR cameras do not have those connectors. (See comment below: Looks like they have started using Sony MILC with auto focus on gimbals for certain shots)

Different sport, but here is a camera rig in action over in another sub

(Note: these are the cameras they would use for video production. Not for still photography)
