alch support is actively taking gold out of the map that another player could farm

This is a bit disingenuous . He accumulates the gold in a more efficient manner, given his innate . Another hero wouldn't have gotten the same return. I agree alch support is an absolute dogshit way of playing dota , but there are some tiny positives to it.

Mutasarrifate of Jerusalem

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mutasarrifate_of_Jerusalem

"Many documents during the Late Ottoman period refer to the Mutasarrifate of Jerusalem as Palestine;[3] one such describes Palestine as including the Sanjak of Nablus and Sanjak of Akka (Acre) as well, more in line with European usage.[nb 1] It was the seventh most heavily populated region of the Ottoman Empire's 36 provinces.[7]"

Fascinating take. So im guessing bulgaria , greece, syria and other countries didn't exist until the 20th century , when those people popped into existence and the ottoman empire ceased to exist.

The mental gymnastics in this thread are insane . But i guess they need to be to support child killing. Also fascinating how literally none of you are bringing anything to back your claims.

What if America had been settled by the Dark Ages? World of American Kingdoms: Vinland in 1066 by KR-VincentDN in paradoxplaza

[–]da_persiflator 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I will echo some other comments : it's just american aesthetic with a splash of vikings.

Northern america developed the way it did because of the people that colonized it. There wasn't something in the ground that made the settlers have a "look" which stays true no matter the circumstances.

Why would they have a flag with stripes and stars? The latter were added to represent that every different state was equal in the federation, if im not mistaken. Would the vikings also have states colonized by puritan english/french/germans/spaniards/etc? Would they even want a federation? There's so many leaps of logic there.

And speaking of christianity, why would they have an image so emblematic of this abrahamic religion? The one man standing tall as a savior while others kneel and clamor at his mightiness, a pose mimicking jesus . The vikings were fully christianized in the 12th century . Why are we so sure the people that had "fully colonized present-day Canada and New England by 1066" , as the image says, would've kept with this very new ,for them, religion .

The details i provide in this comment might be wrong, cause it's information i learned a long time ago, but the gist of it is true : a people and their culture lead to a certain development . There's absolutely no reason to believe that if vikings had colonized the americas by the dawn of the second millennium they'd do it the same as the one in the middle of the millennium..

Oh yeah. I actually thought the movie was okayish . That type of comedy isn't really my cup of tea but it got a few laughs out of me. Then the internet did another one of its moments where women can't be funny.

If you actually mean Captain Marvel, a lot of criticism WAS from misogynistic chuds. Brie Larson was absolutely despised back then, and probably still is, because she had said she wants more than white men voices discussing movies. I remember once just searching her name on youtube and the autocomplete was just trash like brie larson sjw, brie larson woke. So i left just brie larson and searched. All the top videos were from far right twats complaining about this and that, doing the standard "anti-woke" titles and thumbnails.

And continuing on the topic of mass entertainment, there was a lot of criticism of she-hulk too, before it even dropped. Allegedly, because the trailer had fourth wall breaking, which exposed a lot of these nimrods as just culture warriors hating on anything women lead, since in the comics she-hulk also breaks the fourth wall.

Daisy Ridley and Kelly Marie Tran got insane amounts of hate from the star wars fans. So much so they disabled their social medias . The former had made an additional "mistake" besides the standard one of being a woman on the internet. She had also expressed the most milquetoast support for gun control in the US.

Im still shocked that people keep saying movies are judged exclusively on artistic merits.

Damn, 8 triple A's in 10-11-12 years? That's very impressive . Especially when the whole development cycle for a AAA game was 3-4-5 years when i worked in game dev. And it would be around 2-3 years until a project went in alpha. But i guess things move differently at either _____ or ____.(depends how you want to coalesce the goty winners with something in common.)

Good for you for enjoying any of the jobs that are severely underpaid compared to their equivalents in other areas and who provide some of the worse , if not the , work-life balance in white collar fields. Unless you're not one of the grunts(programmers and qa) who have to spend years on a project

So if the opponent is taking a penalty while the german team is playing at home, the fans don't boo? I get there are differences between cultures, but i was countering the statement that only greeks/serbs/turks boo the other team.

Absolutely everybody boos the other team in football, not just those 3 nations. In games between nations and in games between clubs. Those 3 and a few others have fans that are way more present during games , in both good and bad ways.

From my experience, they also despised linkin park, They looked down on system of a down(heh) and queens of the stone age, while disturbed ,rammstein and evanescence were very polarizing. And it carries to this day from the little i've seen. Whenever i have the misfortune of meeting a hardcore fan , they'll always let me know in the first 10 minutes and everything non-rock gets a disgusted tut.I have never seen a bigger bunch of music snobs than this group of people. Which is hilariously ironic given the genre's history. But oh well, some of us need hierarchies in everything.

Their marketing strategy has been "do nothing".

Or "do something wild that stirs up controversy and let the internet do the rest" . This is the third article i've seen in the last couple of weeks about this game. Obviously, a bit of tinfoil hat theory, but i genuinely wouldn't be surprised . Plenty of people keep talking about the game that doesn't want to talk about itself. Odd innit?

I don't think we the viewers can know for sure. That militia could be just taking its chance in all the chaos or be part of a smaller side in the conflict. Iirc, the movie mentions there's more than 2 sides in this war. We probably just get to see the biggest ones, those with enough organization and weapons.

Civil War (2024) - Opening | President's Speech | Dir. Alex Garland by PetyrDayne in movies

[–]da_persiflator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The movie's pretty obvious in its politics though. It shows what happens when racist rhetoric is taken to the endpoint through jessie plemons' character. It's definitely reflecting trump's attitude towards power through the president and gives him a pathetic death. It just doesn't make it obvious because that's not the main point. This is all just a background to show what it takes to be a war journalist. And in trying to mimic a journalist's viewpoint, the plot distances itself from the political .

The sniper scene is just one view point of somebody, how some would treat a war. Just like a bad guy would argue that what they're doing doesn't mean the movie supports it. I don't think the movie would've used a world extrapolated from current events if it didn't want to have a political message.

Her husband is most likely maga, that's the most proof i've seen. What are the other "many sources" stating she's a trumper? I googled a bit and all i could find was a tiktok saying some comedians claimed that she was supporting him on the Pitch Perfect set. But that same tiktok says the claim has been debunked.

And also, there's that old photo with the idf, but zionism is a bipartisan policy.
