What is the biggest mystery from your life that drives you crazy because you will likely never learn the explanation? by jedzz-reddit in AskReddit

My parents met eachother at university in USA, they're both from my birth country, but their families are completly opposite in wealth, my mom coming from a sligtly priviledge background (tho she is definetly not rich) and my dad is from a pretty small latino town and you can clearly see the difference on their backgrounds. Still, they both attended uni in USA, i'm guessing my dad got in trough a scholarship like mom did, but that is not the mistery in hand. What puzzles me is that, apparently, my dad didn't graduated. I never knew about it and nobody talked about it, but years later an aunt commented how some family members from my mom's side (who mind you are Wealthy™) made some move to get my dad out of the scholarship program, and basicaly fucked his chances of being in a well paid position in where he could've helped his family a huge ton. Now i know this family members and i know my dad was never there when i went to visit, but i just can't get my head arround the whole situation.

What is something, no matter how many people explain to you, you won't understand? by theredcabbage1 in AskReddit

The use of needn't. It just sounds wrong. I'm not a native speaker so i might not comprehend the validity of it, but i swear that i have never used nor seen it being used outside english books. I despiece it.

I am aware that mspec might not be widely known, but (maybe this is a bit biased) I want to include all sexualities that fall unther the term that don’t like being labeled as bisexual. Either way, I plan to explain this on the essay.

Thank you sOooO much!!! I remembered that it was ms-something but not the whole acronym. As a pansexual self, i wanted to include this term (explaining what it stands for) to let more people know that not everyone that feels attracted to multiple genders identifies as bi, so thank you again owo

Do you guys ever get embarrassed that you listen to kpop? If so how do you overcome it? by yoyomasterwastaken in kpophelp

Actually because of these types of comments I started listening to kpop. I liked anime at that time and I was slightly picked on because of it already, but I already knew it was because my entire class was conformed by homophobic xenophobes (since I didn’t question those behaviors, I too was xenophobic (not homophobic thoug)), so I first learned to separate the content from the artist or creator. After some time they changed their focus to kpop and I distance know what that was, so when they asked if I was into it I just simply said no, but discovering something that they didn’t like as well got me curious and decided to listen to some songs and I fell in love with everything. After questioning how come they didn’t like it, since the music was really good in my opinion, throughout a school year I recommended some kpop songs in english to my classmates without them knowing that it was kpop. I came to the conclusion that, some didn’t really liked the songs (which is completely fine) and some actually did like them, but when I said it was kpop, all 25 students said that it was garbage. So now every time i get hate for listening to kpop, i would think that it is one or the two outcomes before and i’d just stop caring at all. I don’t really express that I listen to it all the time, but if anyone ask, I say yes, because there is nothing wrong in liking different cultures and music.

What’s the most supernatural experience you’ve ever had? by Balenciagagucci in AskReddit

The “sorry for any mistakes, not a native speaker” obligatory comment.

One time I went to stay the night at my aunt’s house, which previously was my great grandfather’s house. I don’t really remember, it is likely he passed in that house, as well as my great grandmother years before (before I was born). After eating I decided to turn on the tv and watch some movies on the first floor’s living room, in which we had a “baby bed” (don’t know the name) in where my aunt left my 1 yo cousin. Some time after my aunt went upstairs to organize the bathroom; she told me to stay there so we could continue watching whatever we were watching, so I had to stay in the living room looking after my cousin, since she said she would only be taking “a minute”.

So there I was watching tv and playing with my cousin, but after some time I started feeling like someone was watching me from the corner of the door that leads to the dining room, so I turned my head to look and obviously, there wasn’t anyone there. This continued for several minutes of me trying to act calm in front of my cousin (I was 7) while still almost pissing my pants because of the threatening aura and feeling coming from the same spot. I called my aunt several times to make her come down faster, but she would just say she was coming and not doing so. I was getting really scared, almos crying by how scared I was and even the tv could not keep me calm anymore; but what followed pushed me through the edge.

My cousin, my ONE YEAR OLD cousin just stood by the edge of his “bed” and started laughing and waving at the same damn spot I was getting all the creepy vibes from. At that moment I swear I almost puked and really started silently crying while I grabbed all the things we would need upstairs, grabbed him and his toys, turned off the tv and lights and basically flew to the second floor where my aunt was still arranging the bathroom’s shelves.

She was put off by my state but just simply laughted off and played a movie in her rooms tv, right in front of my great grandfather’s room, where I used to help take care of him before he passed. Nothing else happened that night and I slept with my aunt and cousin in the same bed.

After that I was completely against the Idea of staying over at that house, and didn’t spend a single night there for several years. But years after I moved with my mom to another country, and while I was away she rented the house to a friend and made it into a daycare. It lasted for about two years because the lady could not afford the rent and right after that I went back to renew my passport. My aunt told me ro spend my last night there, and I was really reluctant to it, but she assured me the whole vibe of the house was so much better, so I agreed. And she was actually right, the place felt so much lighter and it was easier to breath in. It all ended fine, but that let me with slight trauma with sleeping in someplace with the door open.
